Good morning friends. One of our groomers went to the shop this morning and unfortunately found a poor kitty who had passed away in our driveway. It’s been moved to a safe location. It’s a long hair striped kitty. We just wanted to let everyone know just in case someone was looking for their baby. ❤️

To all our wonderful clients,
A new year means new resolutions and sometimes that includes reviewing our shop's policies and procedures that keep all our clients and staff safe and well cared for. We wanted to take this moment to share a few things that will be implemented starting January 15, 2025.
We always try to maintain an environment where your pet feels comforted, safe and cared for. As such, we've allowed owners to step into the employee's area of the salon to comfort their pups.
Unfortunately, going forward we will no longer be offering this as an option. Grooming can be a high stress situation due to strange people, smells and noises. This can cause animals to be highly reactive. So, for the safety of our staff and our customers we ask that any non-employee remain behind the employees only gate at all times.
The holidays are a busy time for everyone. At Ruff Cuts, we always try our best to meet our customers needs while being respectful of their time and any unplanned situations that arise.
During the 2024 holiday season we experienced a dramatic increase in last-minute cancellations and/or no-shows. Between the week leading up to Thanksgiving and the end of the year we had over 50 of these occur. Unfortunately for our commission-based employees, when this happens it is extremely difficult to fill the holes left in the schedule. Starting this year, we will be requiring prepayment of appointments during the holiday season, with the cancellation and/or last-minute rescheduling of the appointment resulting in the client's loss of that prepayment.
The shop is also enforcing a pick-up policy. Beginning in January we will be enforcing our late pickup fee. While this rule has previously been in effect, we've been lax in allowing our clients ample time to pick up their pups. Unfortunately, over the holidays we had multiple employees waiting hours after our closing time for owners to return. With that and limited kennel space we will now be charging the $20/hour fee if your pet is not picked up within 30 minutes of completion, unless arranged otherwise with your groomer prior to drop off. Additionally, if we do not hear from the pet parent by end of business, Ingham County will be contacted.

Due to New Michigan legislature passed in December 2024, we are forced to raise prices on all grooms starting 02/01/2025. Sorry for the short notice.
