Mason City Pet Clinic has a doctor with over 25 years of experience, staff members who deliver compassionate, friendly care to your pets, and a facility that is completely remodeled and up-to-date. We are located at 510 Village Green Drive SW, which is right off of Highway 122, located between Discount Tire, Aldi's grocery store and Menards, and across the highway from Target and Fleet Farm.

DR. SPIESS IS RETIRING!

This is to inform you that I will be retiring the middle of April 2026.

We are excited to move on to the next chapter of our lives, but at the same time we are sad to be leaving this great community, our wonderful clients, and your fabulous pets! We very much appreciate those of you who did come back. You have no idea how much that has meant to us.

We will take appointments up to 4/17/26.

As far as records, if you could e-mail us at [email protected] before 4/17/26, and tell us which vet clinic you'd like your records to go to, it would work best for us. If you want to pick them up in person, please e-mail or call a day or two ahead so we have time to process them.

We just need your name (the name on the account that your animals are listed under), and a phone number in case we have questions. Please be patient, we have a lot of records to send!

We want to thank you for allowing us to provide care for your pets, and for your support over the years. We have immensely enjoyed seeing you and your pets. You will be missed.

Owner had to go to nursing home. Her friend asked us to post her cats here to find a good home. They are 10 years old, female, both spayed and declawed, and the owner wants them adopted together. Her friend, Linda Bowcock, has asked that you message her on Facebook for more details/questions. Please don't call the clinic with questions, or ask here, because I don't spend much time on FB. It's time for continuing education again! We will be closed Thursday and Friday, 9/25 and 9/26, and will be back on Monday the 29th. Check those prescriptions and call us to get a refill if needed.

If you have an emergency, there are emergency clinics in Rochester, MN, and Ames and Des Moines, IA, or try a local vet.

We have an older but very loving long-haired grey and white cat who is in need of a home. She needs to be the only pet in the home. She used to live with an elderly lady, but she gets along with our 27-year-old daughter very well. (We have 4 already, or we would take her). They already tried the Humane Society.
