This video gives good advice on what to do with baby chicks (Nestling / Fledgling) that have fallen to the ground.
PS: Placing the chick or chicks a cardboard shoebox and attaching it to nearest tree will also work for a temporary nest.

A HAPPY TAIL!
KUDOS; to Terrific Neighbors on Elm Dr. in Maryville, TN.
This dog was reunited with its human family within 2 hours of its being found. The finders made a poster with picture of dog and posted it on telephone pole in front of their home on Elm Dr, a neighbor walking by recognized the dog in the picture and notified the owner and within minutes they were reunited. We then found out, this dog and its yard mate escaped by getting under their fenced in yard fence, and proceeded to tour the neighborhood. The yard mate a Labrador Retriever had returned home, but somehow this older dog didn’t keep up. Now everyone is back home, Yea, for Great Neighbors.
