Hi all!

I wanted to take a second to introduce my foster who is officially up for adoption through National Bernese Mountain Dog Network.

Mari is a former Amish mill momma who is still learning what being a dog is all about. She is still incredibly skittish and is just learning to trust people. We think she is between 2-3 years old. She is TINY- only 48lbs and should only be 55-60lbs fully grown. She is still nervous but has opened up a lot since we’ve had her. She is an absolute sweetheart and with time will truly make the most amazing addition to a family.

Some quick info about her!

- She is spayed and up to date on all vaccines
- She gets along with other dogs, cats AND kids 🙂
- Walks extremely well on a leash and does great in the car
- She is fully house trained
- Does require a fence
- Nervous with new people (men in particular) but has made progress
- She would definitely benefit from another dog in the home to teach her the ropes (though no rude/obnoxious dogs or hyper dogs) as she will shut down

She is very submissive and very docile, but her personality is slowly starting to shine through. You can tell she wants to be playful and has so much to offer, she just needs some time to gain a little confidence. She loves her safe place and stays in it most of the time (which is a bed in the corner of our family room). It will definitely take time for her to settle in so someone with patience and understanding is a must.

Most of you have by now met my assistant, Kylie. She’s been working with me for almost 3 years and knows your dogs just as well as I do!

For the months of May & June, she will be training with me during the workday. For now, she will be focusing on double-coated dogs and shave-downs only. (Examples include Golden Retrievers, Australian Shepherds, Bernese Mountain Dogs, as well as doodles that are getting a clean, all-over cut for summer.)

To my sweet, sweet girls.

Yesterday I said goodbye to my first baby. Winnie was my first dog all on my own. She has gone through so much with me over the last ten years and taught me so much about life and it’s challenges. I can’t thank her enough for being everything I needed.

For those who don’t know, we lost Aurora back in September. Because they were both seniors, I knew we would lose them both within a short amount of time, but nothing prepares you for two losses in less than a year. I am so grateful we got to love them for so long, we are truly lucky for them to have been 9 and 11 if you know anything about berners.

This loss hurts, but I wouldn’t have changed a thing about it. I hope Apollo and Cocoa were up there ready to greet you 🌈🐾 I love you both to the moon and back.

Rest in peace, my angels 💛💜
