The hottest part of the day starts before you realize it. ☀️💧
By the time animals show signs of heat stress, they're already working harder to stay cool.
As temperatures climb, a few simple steps can make a big difference for horses, livestock, and pets:
✔️ Check water sources often and refill before they run low
✔️ Provide access to shade throughout the day
✔️ Clean tanks, buckets, and troughs regularly to encourage drinking
✔️ Schedule work, hauling, and exercise during cooler morning or evening hours
✔️ Watch for signs of heat stress, including excessive panting, lethargy, decreased appetite, or reduced water intake
Whether it's a horse in training, cattle in the pasture, or the family dog in the backyard, summer comfort starts with preparation.
Because the best way to handle the heat is to stay ahead of it. 💚
