We haven't posted too much in a while, but we had our monthly work party at Marysville's Strawberry Fields for Rover Off Leash Dog Park today before it got too hot. M-DOG volunteers had a great timing meeting a lot of park users and their four-legged friends - new and returning - who wanted to know when our next work party will be. Work parties are the 3rd Saturday of each month at 9 a.m. in the dog park. We would love for you to volunteer with us! Usually takes two hours of "not back-breaking" tasks. Your dogs are always welcome to come with you - one even did a little weeding without being asked! For more info, contact M-DOG president Doug Buell at 425-308-2716 or [email protected] Woof woof!

* Weeding the agility course sign work
* Pet waste and garbage pickup inside and around the dog park (from trailhead to into dog park.)
* Sweeping concrete pads
* Refilling dog-dug holes within the park
* Refreshing drinking water access for dogs at the south end of the park. Hi, dog parks lovers! This is a shout out that we are seeking someone to take care of a one-time volunteer task for Marysville Dog Owners Group. We usually have a rotation of 2 or 3 people who take turns trimming and mowing the Small Dog Area at Strawberry Fields for Rover. At this point, the grass is higher than little pups who love it. Unfortunately, we have been unable to do so lately because of various unrelated injuries and ailments. We're looking for someone who cares and enjoys the dog park that will be willing to take on this task as soon as possible this month. If you're willing to step up, please contact M-DOG president Doug Buell at [email protected] or 425-308-2716, and he will gladly fill you in.

This is Blanco, a stray greyhound Brad Pitt found and rescued while filming in the streets Argentina. In 1996, Pitt settled in Mendoza to film "Seven years in Tibet." While there, he picked up 13 dogs from the street and was in charge of feeding, vetting and placing them in forever homes.

Three of them were eventually taken to Buenos Aires and had their own private room in the five-star hotel where he was staying. After filming was completed, these three puppies flew with him home to Los Angeles and became part of the Pitt crew.

We know you diehard dog park lovers won't be deterred when your four-legged friends want their walk. We just wanted to give you a visual heads up on current conditions Strawberry Fields for Rover. Definitely requires waders and some Indiana Jones-style agility, but if you can get through the gauntlet pictured, the trail network and dog park are clear for a visit! Weather forecasts suggest a string of clear but cold days, so hopefully water levels will go down.
