We have a surprise to share! After not planning to have an English Cocker litter this summer, the stars aligned, and we decided to breed JoJo when she came into season last month! We've had this pairing planned for a while, and are so excited that we saw at least five puppies on ultrasound this morning.

The ECSCA National Week has come to a complete end, and we couldn't be more proud of how the Blazen dogs represented us through the week!

Vesper kicked off the week earning her first two points at the all-breed under Mr. Roger Gifford. The next day, her cousin, Brie, earned her 14th Championship point under Mr. Larry Abbott.

Monday was filled with grooming, packing, loading, and unloading. Tuesday's Regional Specialty under Mr. Doug Johnson was all that I could have hoped for! Brie placed 4th in a competitive Bred-By Puppy class, Vesper was 2nd in 9-12 Puppy to her sister, Yankee won his 10+ Veteran class, and Sherman made a cut in Best of Breed!

In National Sweepstakes, under Breeder Judge Mrs. Sally Rosenthal, Brie was 4th in 9-12 Puppy, Delta was 2nd in 11+ Veterans, and Yankee was the star, winning his 11+ Veteran class before going on to Reserve Best in Veteran Sweepstakes!

Thursday, Vesper was again 2nd to her sister in 9-12 Puppy under Breeder Judge Sue Dwelly, Yankee was 2nd in 10+ Veterans to the eventual Best of Opposite winner, and Delta was 3rd in her own 10+ Veteran class.

While no ribbons to show for it, I could not have been more proud to present Sherman and JoJo in the Best of Breed ring on Friday, both showing their best qualities and why we're so proud of our Kade x Delta kids.

Above all, it was fantastic to see our ECS friends from across the country (and beyond). It was a joyous week and we thank the event committee for their hard work behind the scenes to make it a success!

Please do NOT send requests to be added to our wait list or anything similar. When and if she is pregnant, we will post our process and more information about the litter. Until then, please hang tight. We have dog shows and other events (as well as our full time jobs!) over the next few weeks so will be busy with all of that as we plan for this litter.

There are so many facets to dog breeding, and it's far from just being about producing cute puppies.

To ensure the reproductive health of our stud dogs, Yankee and Sherman, we recently had them both collected and evaluated. We're pleased to report that both were given clean bills of health! This is important to ensure there are no infection and that our boys are ready when requested.

Yankee is in the St. Louis, MO area and Sherman is based in SE Wisconsin with his handlers. Both are available for live cover or fresh collection to approved females.

Day 1 at the all breed and sporting dog specialty shows in Tinley Park, IL were a success!

Both Brie and Vesper won their puppy classes (6-9 month puppy and bred-by puppy, respectively). Brie was the big winner with a 3 point major at the all breed show going Winner and Best of Winners, and earned the last point needed for Puppy of Achievement. Vesper was Reserve Winners at the sporting dog specialty.

Jojo (CH Blazen's Full Victory At Breezewood RI FCAT) was Best of Opposite for a 4 point Grand Champion major with champions defeated at the all breed show.

Sherman (GCH Blazen Down The Rabbit Hole Of Nadou BCAT) was Select Dog at the all breed and sporting dog show for a total of 4 points to complete his Grand Champion Bronze title (pending AKC confirmation) handled by Ryan Wolfe.

Andie hit the road this past weekend for Lebanon, TN and the Tennessee Valley English Cocker Spaniel Fanciers specialty shows.

Sherman was Best of Opposite at one of the all-breed shows and Select Dog three times, including both specialties.

Yankee was the star of the weekend, earning Blazen's first Best in Specialty Show award at 11 years young. He was also Best Veteran and 1st Award of Merit at the other specialty.

Our keeper puppies, Vesper and Brie, also tagged along for the weekend with Brie earning two 4-6 Puppy Group Placements and Vesper winning a 4-6 Puppy Group!

JoJo (CH Blazen's Full Victory at Breezewood RI FCAT) became Blazen's 8th Champion English Cocker Spaniel (and 6th bred by us) this past weekend! We're especially proud of this girl for bouncing back from her litter of puppies just 16 weeks ago. While she's still growing her beautiful coat back, she is in amazing physical condition. She also finished her FCAT title over the weekend! A success in two different venues!

While JoJo pivots to focusing on agility, we're excited to start showing her daughter, Brie, in a few weeks!
