🐾 ATWDR Update Time! 🐾
The past two months have gone by in a blur, and I owe everyone an apology for not keeping up with updates as much as I should have. We've had a lot of medical cases come through recently, which means endless vet appointments, transports, treatments, and follow-up care. While we've been busy behind the scenes, so many wonderful things have happened for these dogs, and it's time to share some happy updates!
❤️ Dixie – The boxer Melissa and I trapped. Dixie was fully vetted, including her enucleation (eye removal surgery). We didn't receive any applications for her, so we transferred her to New Jersey Boxer Rescue. The best part? Her foster family fell completely in love with her and adopted her!
❤️ Geo – The handsome poodle boy was fully vetted and transferred to Rescue Me WV, who works with poodles way more then we do. He went straight into a foster-to-adopt home and is doing wonderful.
❤️ Opal – The puppy suffering from severe demodex mange. Her skin healed beautifully, all of her fur grew back, and she was transferred to the Humane Society where she was adopted the very next day!
❤️ Bailey – The severely emaciated dog we took in. Bailey gained about 15 pounds, was spayed, had bloodwork completed, and we made sure she was healthy after everything she'd endured. She truly came out of her shell during her recovery. To make room for Coco, Bailey was transferred to the Humane Society and has since been adopted into a wonderful home.
❤️ Oswald – Our American Bulldog puppy has officially been adopted!
❤️ Bunny – Mama Bunny has been spayed and fully vetted. She developed an issue with one of her eyes, so we've been monitoring that before finalizing her adoption. She is currently in a foster-to-adopt home, and her family absolutely adores her.
❤️ Bunny's 6 Puppies – One puppy went into a foster-to-adopt home through us. The remaining five puppies were transferred to the Humane Society and have all been adopted.
❤️ Dozer – The silly black Staffy boy's leg has completely healed. He's now neutered, fully vetted, and living in a foster-to-adopt home.
❤️ Mink – The double merle American Bulldog. Mink has been spayed and updated on all of her vaccines. She does have entropian and is scheduled for corrective surgery at the end of June. She already has a wonderful foster-to-adopt family waiting for her and will officially be adopted once she's healed.
❤️ Kane – The little brown puppy with the broken jaw. His jaw has healed beautifully! He'll be turning six months old at the end of the month and will be neutered before heading to his forever home.
❤️ Coco – The Yorkie mix with the massive shoulder wounds. Her shoulder is nearly healed, and she moved into a foster-to-adopt home last week. She's doing great so far and will be spayed soon before her adoption is finalized.
❤️ Munchie – The senior gentleman we pulled from Morgan County Animal Control. He's currently in a foster-to-adopt home. Unfortunately, his health wasn't quite good enough for neuter surgery during his recent vet visit. We're following our veterinarian's recommendations and will reassess in a couple of weeks. If all goes well, he'll be neutered and officially adopted soon.
❤️ Baby Swiss – The puppy with the infected puncture wounds. She's been on antibiotics, and her wounds are healing wonderfully.
Looking back through this list is honestly incredible. In just a couple of months, these dogs have gone from neglect, injury, illness, and uncertainty to healing, safety, foster homes, and forever families. This is exactly why we do what we do.
Thank you to every adopter, foster, volunteer, transporter, donor, and supporter who helped make these happy endings possible. None of this happens without you!!
Stay tuned—we have even more updates coming soon!
To all of the babies in this post, enjoy the good life, for the rest of your lives! 💕
