Shenandoah Veterinary Hospital was established in 1974 in Martinsburg WV. The doctors and staff have been practicing high quality veterinary medicine for 40 years. On September 25, 2009, the hospital expanded to a new state-of-the-art facility, creating the ability to see more pets. In 2023 we have started offering TeleHealth visits! Starting this week, we will be transitioning from our current online pharmacy, Covetrus, to our new online pharmacy, Vetcove.

If you have any preexisting autoships, we are automatically transferring them over. You will have to update your payment method.

With these record heat predictions, please be aware of the potential for heat stroke and overheating.

Heatstroke is a true emergency and can be life threatening. Signs include heavy, uncontrollable panting, thick or sticky drool, and bright red or pale gums. Pets will act weak, stumble, or collapse. Severe symptoms also include vomiting, diarrhea, seizures, and unconsciousness.

Watch for these warning signs closely, as pets can overheat much faster than humans.

Starting tonight, Monday through Friday we will be open until 11pm for Urgent Care! Two additional veterinarians have joined our team as well.

If your pet experiences anxiety during thunderstorms, fireworks, or other loud noises, now is the time to plan ahead. Don't wait until the last minute to request prescription refills or discuss anxiety medications with your veterinarian.

Our phones tend to get very busy leading up to holidays and stormy weather, and some medications may take time to prepare or approve.

Giving us advance notice helps ensure your furry family member has what they need to stay calm and comfortable.

Please call our office as soon as possible if your pet may need anxiety medication for upcoming storms or Fourth of July celebrations.

We are in need of towels, blankets and newspaper! These are things we use daily and will frequently have to trash towels and blankets due to damage or contagious diseases.
