We are thrilled to be at the 2025 IRCHA Futurity, Derby & Horse Show. We kicked off the day with High Shining Whiz in the Derby Rein Work, laying down a solid, big stopping run! Next up is the herd work Monday morning, followed by fence work on Wednesday.

Saturday the older horses will be brought to town to show in the Two Rein!

We love ending our year showing cowhorses at one of the best events so close to home! πŸŽ‰

The team of firsts! It’s incredible what you can accomplish when you put your mind to it. These two entered the show pen this year for the very first time. β€˜Winston’, never shown before, stepped foot in the show pen his 4 year old year with his teammate Kacey who only recently started learning all aspects of cowhorse. We are proud of their hard work! Good things are in store for both of them.

As the temperature starts to cool, we eagerly await a new season that brings on new routines. C**t starting season is upon us. In a short, few months we see uncertain, young horses transform into willing partners with bright futures. It is a pleasure to create a stable foundation for these colts to grow into well rounded, broke individuals, finding their confidence and strength under the saddle.

We’ve made it back after a good week at the URCHA Boone Preserve Futurity Derby & Horse Show. We brought home 4 checks on High Shining Whiz aka β€œBlake”. We are looking forward to Blake’s future. This good minded, big stoping pony is going to make an outstanding horse show competitor.

We are thankful to have a team of such dedicated employees. Each person brings their unique set of skills to the table. Kacey and Cierra are our assistant trainers. Both of them come from a background of starting mustangs, which requires strong, but fair leadership. Ricky is in charge of our ranch maintenance and picks up all the loose ends to keep things functioning smoothly.

𝑴𝒆𝒆𝒕 π‘²π’‚π’„π’†π’š! Kacey is confident and fearless. She is always ready to put a first ride on colts and helps guide them through the unfamiliar. Kacey stepped into the show pen for the first time this year with no hesitation. She loves to challenge herself to try new things and comes to work with a good attitude each day.

𝑴𝒆𝒆𝒕 π‘ͺπ’Šπ’†π’“π’“π’‚! Cierra is calm and grounded. She is skilled at working with sensitive horses and has an innate ability to de-escalate frantic situations when training. She shows passion and motivation to learn all things horses and is looking forward to competing in reined cowhorse next season.

𝑴𝒆𝒆𝒕 π‘Ήπ’Šπ’„π’Œπ’š! Ricky is diligent and a problem solver. He is the handyman that everyone needs, a jack of all trades and on track to master them all. He is always ready to crack a joke bringing laughter to even the longest days at work.
