CAUTION FIREWORKS
Fireworks can be very frightening for dogs, the different loud noises and flashes of light. They also feed off your emotions, excitement, and adrenaline. Your dog could have a fight or flight reaction to the emotional state and noise.
So before the fun begins design a quiet space for your dog, somewhere they are relaxed. Have tv or music going to offset the noise of what's going on out there. Maybe a favorite chew for distraction also. NO pats or petting telling them it's "ok" Big mistake, it's telling your dog it's "ok" when it's in a fight or flight state its telling them it's ok to act this way. Which in time makes things worse, can end badly.
On a side note.. there are also people in this world who struggle with fireworks, anxiety, PTSD. So try and inform your neighbors, make them aware of what you are going to do in your celebration, so they can prepare for themselves or for there precious pets.
Thank you
Sincerely
