Duncan has been waiting:

These super sweet little Rat Terriers are still waiting on a new family. They love to play, don't make any mistakes in their kennels, fine with other dogs and kids.

APL has 7 licensed veterinarians on staff. Our mobile units are modern stainless steel surgery suites. Surgery fees include a pain injection, an antibiotic injection and all dogs go home wearing an e-collar. Remember, dogs should come on leashes (NOT THE RETRACTABLE KIND) and cats must come in carriers.

COMMUNITY POST – Bella is NOT at The Pet Place

Bella is currently living in a foster home with Friends of Marshall and not at The Pet Place.

She’s about 5 years old and came into care after her elderly owner had to move out of the home. During that stressful time, she became very protective of her space and bit a roommate. Since moving into her foster home five weeks ago, Bella has settled in and has shown to be a calm, quiet dog who loves to curl up in someone’s lap. Bella gets along well with both cats and other dogs in her foster home. She’s house-trained, crate-trained, and loves routine.

Her foster family believes Bella would thrive in a quiet, low-traffic home where she can be the center of attention and feel safe. For more information please call 979-204-5675

This is NATIONAL PET ID WEEK

Neutered male husky in need of a new home ASAP. Owners are moving THIS Saturday and unable to take him. Adopted from Longview 6 months ago, and they are unable to take him back. Here's what the owner has to say:

Trying to rehome 2 year old, Siberian Husky. He's house broke, crate trained, good in a fence, very good with other dogs, big or small, and very good with children and all people. He's very friendly.

At The Pet Place, this week hits close to home. We often see the heartbreaking effects of animal cruelty — and the amazing transformations that are possible with compassion and care.

💔 What is Animal Cruelty?
It can be physical abuse, neglect, abandonment, hoarding, or even simply failing to provide the basics like food, water, and shelter.

At The Pet Place, we rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome animals who’ve been failed by humans. Many come to us scared, confused, and sometimes injured. But with time, love, and support, they heal — and remind us why this work matters.

Both are 3 years old. Unfortunately, their elderly owner is no longer able to give them the attention and space they need to truly enjoy life. They’re both kept contained, which is limiting their happiness.
