It's National Feed a Rescue Pet Week. Many animal shelters are experiencing overcrowding. This is due to a number of factors, such as a slowdown in adoptions, an increase in owner surrenders and transfers from other shelters. When shelters are packed to capacity, they may struggle to provide enough nutrition for all the animals in their care, which can compromise their health and well-being. During National Feed a Shelter Pet Week, food donations become a critical way to help alleviate this strain. By donating pet food, you're not just providing a meal, you're ensuring that each animal receives the proper nutrition they need to stay healthy, energetic, and ready for adoption.

July is National Pet Hydration Month. The temperatures this weekend are expected to be in the mid- to upper-90s, again. Keeping yourself and your pets hydrated is vitally important. Please stay safe, cool and hydrated!

July is National Lost Pet Prevention Month.

30% to 60% more pets go missing between July 4th and July 6th than any other time of the year. Unfortunately, less than 3% of lost pets who wind up in shelters find their way home, and only 17% of dogs find their way home on their own.

Here are a few tips to keep them safe and sound this 4th of July.
