Let me tell you a story about Katie and her Dad. Katie’s dad was the one who saved Ash when he decided to jump out of the car while it was going 🤦🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️ Larry (Katie’s dad) was just so impressed by Ash he really wanted a puppy of his own. He waited patiently for his dream puppy to be born. When I tell you it was love at first meet with these two I’m not even kidding. They just clicked like it was meant to be. Larry got called away on work and couldn’t pick Katie up right away, but once he got back and picked her up it was like she had been waiting for him. It was love for sure. Larry got her home and you could tell he was nervous about owning her and making sure he got everything right. He admits at one point he almost gave her back. But, with encouragement, research, and support from our kennel he became very confident and is hands down one of our best owners! Little Ms. Katie is flourishing with her dog siblings, her dad takes her on lots of walks, plays with lots of toys with her, constantly training her and she’s quite the “chick magnet.” The point of this story is, if this is a breed you want, if you’re willing to put in the work you too can own this amazing breed. It is constant work, don’t fool yourself in thinking you can drop them off somewhere to have them trained and you’re done. It’s constant work. No one is perfect, no one gets everything right but if youre head strong enough and determined you can do it too. Be like Larry 😂🥰

I have gotten many messages about Ms. Dolly Sue. This is a picture of her right after her encounter with the coyote. Many want to know if we are going to breed her. The answer is yes. HOWEVER, what I need everyone to understand is this is not the breed for everyone. What saved Callie’s life and possibly Dolly’s or at least saved her from getting hurt was Dolly’s training. Dolly is NOT trained for protection. Her hearing her sister cry for help and attacking the coyote was all instinct. However, Dolly’s parent work everyday on her commands such as recall. When Dolly’s mom told her to “come” she made sure there was no more threat and Dolly recalled. That stopped her from chasing the coyote into their Den. It allowed her mom to get the dogs home quickly and out of the way of any other danger. The Cane Corso is an amazing breed but they are VERY powerful dogs, with mighty personalities that can easily take over if you’re not consistent and not an Alpha. We need to remember to respect that and be honest with yourself before choosing this breed. These dogs are Velcro’s dogs who love their families hard! They aren’t dogs that can just be passed around family to family. So while yes we will be breeding her, and yes what she did was amazing, and yes she will hurt or unalive any threat to her family, and my God we are super proud of her, it takes a special kind of person/people to raise one

***HERO DOG*** Today while dad was at work Mom took Dolly and her sisters on a walk. While walking the littlest of the dogs decided to walk way up ahead out of nowhere a coyote attacked her. Dolly Sue heard her sister yelling for help so she sprang into action. We are unsure what happened next but when Dolly Sue returned to her mom her face was covered in blood. Mom gently washed her face only to discover it definitely wasn’t her blood! So in other words the coyote fu**ed around and found out. Callie (the dog that was attacked) is fine. A couple of minor puncture wounds, that are not very deep. She will be assessed by vet but will make a full recovery. Dolly Sue is extremely proud of herself. When dad came home and asked “who saved the day?” Dolly did her happy Dance and jumped all over dad! Thank you Dolly Sue for doing an EXCELLENT job at protecting your family and your pack!

Edit to add: they went back out to locate the coyote and could not find it. They will go back out tonight to find it in hopes of finishing the job (one so it doesn’t suffer and two so it doesn’t attack anyone/anything else).
