Longer video for a big update. I’ve been showing and judging horses shows the last few weekends, with this I’ve been super busy getting all the horses worked I haven’t edited videos.
Banjos was a little spicy when he first came back so I took an extra few days to make sure all the kinks were worked out.

When I first got Banjo back for a tune up he would have rather large reactions when I would put the bags on the saddle. We spent a few days of just working on reestablishing his confidence and working through it. Now he handles them like a champ and is doing great!

I had the opportunity to have Greg Robinson Horsemanship help me with Nova this past weekend while he was at a local show. I have worked with Greg a few times and his knowledge is unmatched.

Nova with having an issue with freezing up in her shoulder and was throwing herself down because she didn’t know how to find the release. Greg did a little bit of ground work then moved to a saddle horse to help ask her to move out. She took everything he asked with stride and blew me away. He was even able to do a little bit of liberty work in the arena as well.

I took his lessons and worked through the week and was able to get some major improvements. I always look forward to when Greg is in town.

Refinement and progression forward. Stormy has really blossomed lately is showing it! I’ve started rope work with her and will start introducing the lead steer. I also took her to her first show this weekend. She was a little off with being her first time in an indoor and first time in this kind of environment. I am beyond happy with how she did!

New face her at Rockin Bar F.
This is Banjo who some may recognize from last winter. He is here for a tune up, so we are touching all the bases to assure he remembers all his training!!

When I start getting close to a first ride I like to take a day or two and pony my c**ts while I have a flag. I take time to work them from both sides to let them see me above them on each side while I also chance eyes from above. This is mocking a first ride and let me know if they are ready or not.

Playing with some refinement with Dusty.
I’ve been pushing through the heat and it’s definitely time for it to cool down. Dusty’s getting ready to go home so I wanted to check in and readdress some old buttons and I think he did really good!!

A little behind on posting so here’s a longer post.
Working on saddling and moving out without a blow up. It’s taken about 3 days of saddling to get Nova to a point where she’ll move out without issue. I’ve also introduced a bit and started working on bitting up. This big lady is wanted a lady a mountain and trail horse. I treat all starts whether they are a performance or pleasure horse the same. Basic stills are the same in and out of the arena!
