☀️ As pools across the tri-state begin to open for the season, now is the perfect time to brush up on pool safety for your pets. While a swim can be a great way to beat the heat, there are several hidden hazards pet owners should keep on their radar...While many dogs love spending time by the pool, there are hidden hazards pet owners should be aware of. Pool chemicals, salt water, chlorinated water, sunscreen, bug sprays, and even unattended beverages can pose serious health risks if ingested.
Keep a close eye on your pet during summer fun and watch for signs such as vomiting, diarrhea, drooling, weakness, excessive thirst, difficulty walking, or changes in behavior.
A few simple precautions can help ensure a safe and enjoyable season:
