This is not an April Fool’s joke! We’re very pleased to announce that A Taste of Money turns thirty-one-years old today! Bred by renowed breeder Chip Knost, Money is by the great Mr. Sonny Money by Sonny Dee Bar,and out of a Skipper W mare. He entered our family when he was only six-months old, and for the past thirty-one years, he has been a staple in our lives and hearts.
Money has some impressive accolades. He won his Superior Halter title at three-years-old, and was a World Qualifier three years in a row. He sired 128 foals, many of which went on to win championships and titles of their own, and many of which still live locally. From those foals, he has an unquantifiable number of great-children and descendents. His legacy will live on for generations!
At home, Money is famous for his unstallion-like disposition. He is affectionate towards his family members, and even protective when need be. His favorite day consists of plenty of kisses, licorice, and a full body massage or two (he loves to be brushed). To this day, he still enjoys running around his indoor arena play space—bucking and playing. At thirty-one years old, he has showed very few signs of slowing down.
Money enjoys his role as the grandfather of the farm, where he enjoys nearly free range. He loves grazing on grass, chatting with his grandkids, rolling in as much dirt as possible, and eating licorice. He eats an average of 2lbs of licorice a week, to be exact. Money has always had a sweet tooth! We’re so happy we’re able to celebrate another year of this impressive guy’s life. We can’t imagine our farm or family without him!
If you have a Money Baby or Grandbaby, please share their pic! We’d love to let Money know how his kids are doing.
