So sorry to report that Liberty was found NOT to be pregnant via ultrasound this morning at Village Vet. She will have an xray on day 55 to be sure that there isn't one hiding in there, but that is unlikely. She will be retired and not bred again. Thank you for your interest 🐾❤️🐾

We hope that you all fared well through the blizzard of 2026!

It has been 21 days since Liberty was bred to Odin of River Run Danes 🐾❤️🐾

Liberty has many signs of pregnancy:

🐾 slowed down

🐾 pickier with food with some morning sickness noted, but she is definitely eating enough

🐾 teats/nipples have become enlarged, pinker, and more prominent.

🐾 super duper affectionate

🐾 passed the old wives tale gum check

All that said knowing my Danes can have Emmy award winning phantom pregnancies her ultrasound to confirm pregnancy is scheduled a week from today, 3/6/26!

Liberty is doing AMAZING! Her appetite is great and she is being extra loving (which means she is always wanting to be in physical contact with her humans and or Dam) and she is more sleepy than usual. Both are typical early signs of pregnancy, but can also occur with a phantom pregnancy. When she goes outside she does zoomies, plays with her pack, and is healthy as a "horse"! Her 9 1/2 year old Dam, Violet, is always close by Liberty's side, but since Liberty has been bred Violet is staying super close to Liberty. Today Liberty keeps choosing to go into her Dane sized crate and Violet keeps squeezing herself in there too. I am a big fan of crate training and when done correctly it is indeed a dog's safe place. Crate training is also incredibly beneficial if your dog is ever to be groomed, for traveling, or if they need to stay overnight at their Veterinarian office.
I played phone tag with my Veterinarian office last week. I will make the ultrasound appointment this week and post the date. Unfortunately I found out that I will not be allowed in for the ultrasound, but they said that they would take a couple of pictures. Sorry waitlist is closed! Stay tuned! 🐾❤️🐾

Update: Exciting news!! Liberty's progesterone was 6.7 IDEXX this afternoon, that means she has started ovulating!!!! Veterinarian office recommended 1st breeding be scheduled for tomorrow. I'll then bring her back at least one more time. A healthy studs s***m will actually rest along the uterine wall waiting for the eggs to ripen, living 3-7 days. So theoretically she could be covered with the 1st breeding, but I'll go back to increase the chances of conceiving!🐾❤️🐾

We will be traveling to River Run Danes tomorrow afternoon. Will post an update tomorrow evening 🐾❤️🐾

3rd progesterone draw this morning! We are waiting at my veterinarian office for the results! Pictures of lovely Liberty waiting to find out if today is her lucky day! 🍀🐾❤️🐾🍀

Update: Liberty's progesterone is 3.2 IDEXX as of this afternoon. So she is progressing, but she isn't ready just yet! That is why I bring her in for several progesterone draws as to not miss the window.

Brought Liberty for her 2nd progesterone draw today after work. She was as always a good girl! We are waiting for the results and I am prepared to bring her to her stud, Odin, out of River Run Danes as early as tomorrow! Pawsitive vibes that she is ready greatly appreciated! ❤️🍀🐾

We are at our veterinarian office waiting to do Liberty's 1st progesterone draw! ✌️❤️🐾
