Teaching a horse to lay down is more than just a trick to me.
It is the result of lots of groundwork, that lead to a relationship with trust and respect.
A horse laying down is very vulnerable. When Dually dropped on the ground for the first time today, he immediately looked up to me, to see if he is in trouble. I reassured him with slow movements, a soft voice and some treats that he did the right thing. He then relaxed and took a deep breath. Very proud of him and his development

Billie had a long day and is ready for a nap.
He really disagreed with the flank cinch on the new saddle today and as a result he had to put in some extra work. Finally got on and had a great ride. The new saddle fits him a lot better and the flank cinch is not as lose as on the old one.
