Having a blast as we transition Cobb County’s volunteer Large Animal Recovery Group (L.A.R.G.) to Rebel Woods for next year as the founder, Laurie Wilson, is leaving the county next year. Cobb Fireman getting some good handling basics and large animal recovery techniques.

New wash rack and crosstie pad! Our big yearly project complete. We decided to do it ourselves (mainly Dustin doing)...lots of prep work made for a great result. We’re so happy and proud of it!

Features:
- rough concrete and new drainage
- tie and wash area for TWO (instead of one)
- instant hot wash hose can reach and bathe two horses at once (with some sharing)
- 12’ tall 6”x6”s are buried 4’ deep and concreted in so we are ready for the horse “sit-back challenge” 🤪
- moved the post 2’ out away from the stalls so you can easily walk in between
- will add a wood divider wall with platform to put totes on
- paved covered shed for another potential tie area or whatever use we find for it

Reminded of how huge our pastures are when I get to the back of them! Most days I see the things that need to be done but today I’m mostly seeing beauty! Thankful for this life we’ve been given.

A very special horse is not coming back to RW ever again, which leaves us with a very empty space in our routine and therefore lives after 10 years here. Lee turned 35 in April and has never quit acting like a 5-year-old...his mind was willing but his body was tired. Thank you Lee for showing us all your passion to live and your love for your mom. You took everything the world had to throw at you in stride...or you snubbed (like the various hays your mom scoured over every new load)...lol. Thanks to you and your mom for tolerating continued harassment from Pudding and Poppy. My kids will miss you as you were the only horse they were allowed to feed while in your stall and only horse they could be near while loose. We know you stayed here for your momma as long as you possibly could - thank you for that.
