K9 Shadow! 🐕

On the morning of August 1st, Deputy Johnny Hyatt responded to a business in Easley in reference to a suspicious person in the parking lot. Upon speaking with the subject, Deputy Hyatt made observations that warranted a response from the K9 team to assess the vehicle for illegal substances. Cpl. Brady Autrey and K9 Shadow responded to the scene and K9 Shadow provided a positive alert. A subsequent search led to the confiscation of drug paraphernalia consistent with the distribution of illegal substances and a substantial quantity of fentanyl. The subject was arrested for Trafficking Fentanyl.

Deputy Hyatt did an excellent job of utilizing his training and experience to make these observations, leading to a substantial amount of fentanyl being removed from our streets. This is also a great example of the undeniable value of our K9 partners. Well done gentlemen!

Please join us in wishing K9 BRONCO a HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! Bronco is 5 years old today and has served with Pickens County since November of 2023. He understands commands in three different languages and was born in Germany! Prior to serving with us, Bronco lived in Vermont where he learned to do ring circuit sport. When we asked his handler Cpl. Michael Skinner about Bronco he said, "He is a big baby who loves his ears scratched!"

K9 Bronco is an invaluable part of our K9 unit and has had many successful finds. We hope you have the best birthday ever Bronco!

Another successful track!

This morning you may have received a notice of a missing person in the area of Scenic Circle in Pickens. A 74 year old male subject with medical concerns walked away from his home sometime during the very early morning hours. After a brief unassisted search, his wife called PCSO for help locating him. Deputy Caleb Cassell and K9 Boss responded and located the missing subject within 7 minutes of deployment. The subject was unharmed and is safely back at his residence. We would like to recognize K9 Boss and Deputy Cassell for their outstanding work!

K9 Bronco!

On April 25th the SC Highway Patrol requested assistance from PCSO in reference to a male subject fleeing on foot from a traffic stop. The male subject had been identified, was known by law enforcement to carry weapons, and had active warrants with PCSO. Cpl. Michael Skinner and his K9 partner, Bronco, responded to the scene and began a track. K9 Bronco alerted on a culvert pipe and deputies located the subject hiding in the pipe. Thanks to the outstanding work of K9 Bronco and Cpl. Skinner, this subject was taken into custody without incident and the community was kept safe.🫡🫡
