Some really cool work being done at Virginia Tech to help shelter cats!

We routinely educate in our appointments about the importance of teaching your cat to take meds BEFORE they need meds, to willingly enter the cat carrier, to forage for their food, etc. How many of you have implemented this and seen the benefits first hand?

Students in Lisa Gunter's shelter car behavior and welfare class develop skills by working directly with shelter cats to build confidence, reduce stress, and prepare them for adoption.

When your cat drops off with us we provide them a place to hide (often their own preferred cat carrier or a cardboard box), their favorite snacks, bedding, etc. we try to ensure they feel safe and cozy! Ingrid brought her own food puzzles from home but we have some here for in house use and sometimes offer puzzles too!

FRESH…EXCITING!
They’re back! Sour puss lemons from Yeowww! Catnip! They are redesigned and better than ever. Apples too.
We also have all our faves, bananas, pineapples and rainbows!🌈 We’ve got pride yes we do, early even!

We always say to each other, “Bring your roller skates, tomorrow is going to be a busy day!” Well, today…DINA DID JUST THAT! She has found it very helpful and quick and had been wearing them for hours! Hilarious!
