What an honor to have been invited back to present for a THIRD YEAR in a row at our Belpre Homecoming Festival - Belpre, Ohio!!
We are so grateful for the opportunity to share with our community again!
We hope to see you all there AND at Jungle Jam Expo this coming May! We are extremely excited for things to come!

Good morning everyone!!
We are VERY desperate for some things at the shelter including some medications for some of our sick animals.
We are trying to raise money for Jafar to get his abscess tooth fixed but are VERY SHORT!
Unfortunately we haven’t had great luck raising money which is one of the reasons we had to close our public location.
I know it’s Christmas time and along side of struggling to make enough money for the animals through fundraising, I have been INCREDIBLY slow at the salon which is how I usually make up the difference.
We are desperate and are asking our community for help.
We have had ZERO adoptions and barely enough donations to help us with food.
I am not usually one to beg but I don’t know what we will do if we don’t start bringing in money soon!
I don’t want to shut down the rescue but it’s looking more and more like that’s what we’ll have to do every single day.

Starting in the new year we will be preparing for Jungle Jam Expo!!
Who’s ready to be a vendor again??
This time around, we plan to make the event HUGE by partnering with some of our friends in the reptile community! Country Boy Constrictors and Exotics and Ohio Reptile Company

🐍All they want for Christmas is a home 🥹

Feel free to rename them but in light of this year being an election year, we did a little political themed naming.

These sweet babies are all on frozen thawed rodents and are eating and going to the bathroom regularly!

They’re all clear of parasites and respiratory infections and they all have clean stools.

They will need a requirement of at least a 40 gallon enclosure with proper heat, a gradient of temperature ranging from the hot side being around 90-95 degrees and the cool side being roughly in the 80’s.

They’ll need a hide on both sides so they’re able to thermoregulate and a proper water dish they can fully submerge into.

Remember the 9 snakes who were surrendered to us a few weeks ago?
One was incredibly emaciated and sick. Look at her now! A full 3 feeding sessions, one VERY clean shed, and she is active and curious.
She still has QUITE a bit of weight to put on before she can be up for adoption but just LOOK AT HER!
The others are ready and looking for homes.
We are taking them to Fort Wayne Indiana tomorrow for a really cool expo, where we’re hoping most of them find their forever homes.

🐢Fun facts!🐢

-Every tortoise is a turtle but not every turtle is a tortoise.

-Turtles generally are omnivorous, even tortoises.

-Research your species but a lot of tortoises need an omnivorous diet to have substantial nutritional adequacy.

-I give our tortoises cuddle bones and egg shells to meet their dietary needs. I’ve seen people also add things like high quality dog food.

We have received 4 bottles of Chlorhexidine solution and over $200 of donations to our apps!!
We are so grateful for you help!
We got 9 snakes and one VERY large tortoise this past week all surrendered!
The snakes are being nebbed in F-10 and are being housed in plastic bins which help us maintain the sterilization process and keep humidity inside for their respiratory system.
They have ALL EATEN!!!!
We had to purchase 15 anoles for our African Bush snake, Bernard, who will be up for adoption to only the right person, as his diet is very particular!
Our newest member is a tortoise pictured below and she needs a name!

As most of you know, FGS8 received NINE snakes yesterday from a rescue done by a local breeder.
He went and picked the animals up and then brought them straight to the shelter!
ALL of the animals appear to have RI and some are severely underfed!
As most of you know, feeders are incredibly expensive!
We are asking for donations of any kind. We need feeders mostly but paper towels, heat mats, F-10, chlorhexidine, and scent free wipes!
