The day I hoped would never arrive, our sweet girl Miss Daisy is now in puppster heaven chasing endless rascally squirrels.
She's come a long way from the Dallas SPCA special of the day to living her best life for the past 16 years. She was there as "an unwanted gift" and she was the best gift we have ever had the pleasure of having.
Along the way she went from enjoying being a city dog at our Swiss Ave district outpost to adjusting to living on 9 acres of high mountain desert in Santa Fe. Chasing away and then avoiding the coyote den on the land next to us.
She has been my constant companion at home since the 2020 plague while I have been Work From Home. During the long long months of being alone from humans (sometimes including our hero Bryan Reid - since he was flying like it was Christmas rush for 2 years straight) she was often my reason to soldier on.
And always a source of entertainment at mealtime and stinky treat opportunities.
We are both thankful for our friend/house/Daisy sitter Natalie and her husband Michael that were always here for her when we left town for cycling adventures. She loved them both and they loved her.
She had a good run and lived her best life. So, in the end - be like Daisy - eat the treats, lick every bowl, wag that tail and go 90 to nothing. Daisy Dawg's Life and Adventures

Well, the humans are at it again with the Wagon Assist for yours truly. I get it, I'm as old as dried up dinosaur p**p, and I am not a fan of actually walking all. the way down our long long driveway to the culdesac.
Anyhoo, the dad-human really needs to up the wagon-game because those oh-so-cute fake rugged wheels make too much noise and offend my delicate sensibilities. And, let's not even get into my "control issues"...
Mom threw out her back bending over to hold on to my handy harness handle. I was never able to jump to freedom.
I hear dad has a new Daisy-proof setup to try next time. Stay tuned...

And, in the meantime I am channeling my inner coyote by p**ping and peeing all over the paved driveway rather than the dirt.

2024 Year in review! Big year with my humans, they took me all sorts of places from Arizona to Steamboat Springs…. And Marfa TX. They made me dress up as a dinosaur - T-Rex to be exact. And those deer ears for Christmas. At 15+ the struggle is real for this low rider. But I rallied to go with my peeps to see the Aspens on the ski hill.
We did a lot of cute family photos that my bestie Natalie loved. The things I put up with sometimes!
Looking forward to more shenanigans in 2025 with my peeps.

Well, it’s that time of year once again. The humans get a thrill out of making me wear silly costumes for Halloween. And to add to the embarrassment this year pops had a matching outfit. I almost tackled him because he looked kind of sketchy. But lucky for him the mom human kept plying me with treats.

Mom and pops wanted to escape the rainy weekend at home and decided to pack me up and go to some place called Marfa, TX for the weekend.
Thankfully, they got a cool modern place that met my high standards for accommodations. And naturally there was a cycling event involved.

I’ve been slacking on the posts, so here are a few photo dumps and updates.
First up is our yearly trip up the ski hill to see the Aspens in all of their fall splendor.
The trail was packed and pops had to be my Lyft driver a couple of times over some of the rough stuff. But I’m 15.5 years old now and my paws-traction ain’t what it used to be.

Merry Christmas my peeps!

I'm not sure how I let my bestie Natalie dress me up in this snowman outfit without being on the receiving end of a top sirloin or at least a pork chop. Had to settle for a lobster treat.
I am going to have to have a talk with the management staff that runs this place.

So, this weekend the humans took me on a road trip to Tucson for warm weather and bike riding fun for them. There was a rumor about more popcorn to be had and - well I was on it like white on rice. Sadly, mom is always watching out for my girlish figure and trying to keep me beach body ready.

A little late with my post about my big vacay without my humans. So my BFF galpal Natalie and I had an off the hook 11ish days of hanging out, hiking, trash TV and eating all sorts of treats. Natalie is the best and we always have the best best time together. I look cute - she gives me treats. She gives me more treats to make cute poses for pics to send to the humans. And as a bonus - the last few days I got to see my boyfriend Michael (Natty's hubby). He loves to mess with me and I like to give him the hairy eyeball.
