💔The lack of support for the SNAP program has left so many in our community struggling. It’s painful to see people go hungry while help feels out of reach. But in the face of that heartbreak, we still have hope — because of you.
We may be small, and our donations may not be much, but our compassion is powerful. Every meal shared, every dollar given, every kind word matters. Together, we’ll keep showing up for one another. We’ll never stop helping.

For the 42 million people who rely on the country’s largest anti-hunger program, it has been a chaotic, nerve-racking week. Here are some of their stories.

🥧 Yes, how you roll pie dough does matter!
November’s Pies For A Purpose Challenge is here — grab that rolling pin and give your pie crust a practice run before your guests arrive!

Then join us Monday, November 24th, 4–7 PM for our Thanksgiving-themed Bake Sale — all proceeds benefit the Marblehead Counseling Center. 💛

Don’t forget to tag us so we can see your pie-rolling results! 🥧

When you roll your pie dough, keep it moving -- it will stick if you leave it in one spot -- and make sure you apply even pressure for consistent thickness.

When we think about supporting our communities, donating to food banks is one of the most immediate ways to help. These organizations provide crucial support to those experiencing food insecurity—but what they need most isn’t always obvious. At the link below, we're breaking down the best items to donate, from high-protein staples to baby supplies, to ensure your contributions make a true difference. ⬇️

Please do what you can to help during this season of giving.

TO FRIENDS OF MAKING ENDS MEET:
We're starting to get information from the schools on the most likely scenario that SNAP benefits will cease until the government shutdown is resolved. Following are resources available to members of our community who need them and ways you can contribute. Making Ends Meet stands ready to provide assistance in any way we can.
____________________________________________________________________

Dear Marblehead Families,

SNAP benefits (formerly known as food stamps) may not be distributed in November due to the federal shutdown. While it’s uncertain whether the shutdown will continue, this could create a sudden gap for families who rely on SNAP for food. Local food pantries are aware and preparing, but resources are limited—especially with Thanksgiving approaching. These community resources may be helpful whether or not the shutdown affects November benefits.

If you are able to help:
There are many ways to get involved through the local organizations listed below. The best way to provide immediate support is by donating to the Marblehead Food Pantry and sharing this information in your community.

The Marblehead Food Pantry serves more than 100 registered families and expects this number to grow in the coming weeks. Community support can make a real difference.

Dear Pies For A Purpose Friends, (*THE DATE HAS BEEN CHANGED*)
As we enter this season of gratitude, it’s time to come together once again to share our baking talents for a wonderful cause. Our November Charity Bake Sale will be held on *MONDAY, November 24th, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at 204 Atlantic Ave, Marblehead *
Next month’s theme is Thanksgiving! All of our baked goods will have a festive holiday touch — cakes, breads, pastries and of course pies!
Proceeds from November’s sale will benefit The Marblehead Counseling Center, a local organization dedicated to supporting the well-being of individuals and families in our community. You can check their services here https://www.marbleheadcounseling.org/whoweare/
