🔴 FYI! 🔴 We have received a few calls recently stating that a PACC representative called them about their lost dog, claiming that they've found them after they were hit by a car and demanding $1,000+ in fees through Zelle to reclaim them. These people claim that they are not able to send a photo to verify that it is the same dog.

Unfortunately, this kind of trickery has become more and more common in recent years. Please know that should PACC contact you about a lost or found pet we would not quote fees or take payment over the phone or online. PACC would only take payment in person at the shelter. Our greatest desire is to get pets back with the people who love them. We typically waive reclaim fees to make it easier for people to get their pets home.

This is another reason that we suggest using Petco Love Lost as your primary lost-and-found contact. All communication about lost/found pets goes directly through their platform rather than through personal means of communication, like your telephone number.

Folks, our towel shelf is bare! Towels are used in SO many different ways around the shelter everyday - in the clinic, to keep pets comfy in their kennels, to clean, and more! Please check those closets and bring in towels if you have any extra. Thank you!

Ruby is part pirate! She arrived at the shelter as a stray with an injury to her eye and unfortunately it had to be removed. That isn’t enough to keep her down, though, she’s one tough cookie. Despite coming in with a painful injury, she has been sweet with shelter staff and volunteers. She is a fun gal who enjoys her walks and loves to cuddle, but she’s also happy to chew on a toy and spend time alone. She can be nervous with new people, so a kind and patient person who will let her settle in at her speed would be ideal.

UPDATE: ADOPTED!

Cholla came to us right before Christmas at 6mo old and 1.4lbs. She was trapped by the amazing team at the Humane Society and we fell in love with her. We knew there was a chance she wouldn’t make it. She was so dehydrated when they got her they couldn’t draw blood. She survived her spay and was able to be checked FIV/FeLV negative. One of our volunteers, Michelle, agreed to take her into her home for foster care! With a ton of love and care Cholla was 4.5lbs at her last weigh in on Thursday!!

We are so proud of our team and everyone who was involved in saving this sassy baby girl!

Cholla was adopted yesterday!! Congrats and happy birthday to her new mom who was an instant fit for her. We know this special girl will make their lives much more exciting and unpredictable. 😂😂

We couldn’t have helped her without all the people who donate their time and money. Thanks to everyone for helping this little angel!

Meet sweet, sad Opus. This shy boy has been with us since January, and he has finally begun to come out of his shell. Even though he was thriving in the rescue, he has become very stressed over the last few months.

Even though his bloodwork is perfect and he’s overall healthy, stress is taking its toll. He has begun to obsessively groom himself, and per our vet, it’s time to find Opus a foster (or forever!) home for a few months.

Opus does well with other cats, but dogs aren’t his favorite. He is timid, but he is incredibly gentle and docile. Due to the severity of his stress, he needs a quiet, calm environment. Opus would love to have a cat tree to hide in, but he wouldn’t mind hanging out under a bed!

Whiskers N Wishes will provide food, litter, and veterinary care for Opus. Can you give Opus a home for the holidays?
