Lakeview Peace Gardens were established at Lakeview Lutheran Church at County Road C and Highway 61 (Maplewood) in April, 2018 to allow gardeners access to fresh air, fresh food, and a meeting space for getting to know others.

Rules of Lakeview Peace Gardens

You must obey these rules to have a plot at Lakeview Peace Gardens:

Pay a non-refundable fee of $25 for one 15’x 20’ garden plot per household in 2018.

Attend Lakeview Peace Garden meetings and training.

Volunteer at least 4 hours to maintain gardens outside of your own plot.

Practice organic gardening principles - no herbicides, pesticides.

Respect ownership rights of other gardeners and Lakeview Lutheran – plots, tools, resources.

Keep plot, paths, and surrounding areas clean and neat.

Place trash in labeled location or take it home – do not place in toilet or leave it lying around.

Keep weapons and pets or other animals out of the gardens.

Supervise children, guests and visitors to my plot.

Do not use abusive or profane language, spit or smoke.

Fill rain barrel after you use it, and turn off the water when you finish.

Do not enter the church building or the AFSA school except to go to office in an emergency.

Cross at marked crosswalks on County Rd. C & Highway 61.

Notify a council member if you decide to leave or no longer wish to use your plot.

Restore your plot to its original condition by October 21 – clean it, remove trash.

Hold the property owner, the city, and Lakeview Peace Gardens organizers harmless – no lawsuits.
