Moonshine: There are parts of being a Rescue that comes with disappointment. Moonshine hasn’t had it easy. She was being sent to the feedlot when he was 5 years old. He was saved by WRER and put into a professional 90-day training program. He was then adopted to a loving family. But like so many people, Covid forced him to be re-homed. We always try our best to help our adopters find good homes when they can no longer take care of their adopted horses. Unfortunately, Moonshine ended up in a bad situation full of neglect. Yesterday we drove 340 miles to repossess and save him from being sold and lost to us forever. He is now back at WRER and we will be assessing his needs and asking for donations to help support him in his next chapter of life.
For more information about Moonshine, keep posted.

I Was Saved From Slaughter!
Thanks to a generous grant from Horse Plus Humane Society, we were able to rescue Yelena from slaughter! This grant covered the initial rescue cost, but we still need your help with the intake, feeding, and sheltering costs. We cannot thank Horse Plus Humane Society enough for making the rescue of this equine possible, without this grant, she could be on their way to Mexico to be slaughtered.

Thank you to our volunteers today! Because of you we got more of our shelters completed, more plywood painted, lumber sorted, and the ugly wood pile cleaned up or at least a dent in it…

Every little bit of help is huge and we appreciate all of it! We truly cannot do this without the help of our volunteers and donations to make this happen.

Assistance Required❗️

Please welcome the two newest members of WRER! After saving these two Yakima reservation mustangs, we assessed their ages as coming yearling and coming 2. We will name them and have updates.

In the meantime, we are out of funds and these girl need help!

We will continue to gentle them but they need to be looked over by a veterinarian and the older one needs a visit with the farrier.

Please help them by considering donating to our rescue. We do all we can to help save these beautiful creatures, but we can’t do it without your support!

SAVED!

Tomorrow we pick these two up. Both of these horses were rounded up over in Yakima and brought over to our local auction. Today we were able to save both of them. Now both of these Mares will have bright futures ahead of them.

We would have loved to save more but getting these two is already pushing it for us. The reality of it is we are not set up to take on more horses currently. We are in need of donations and assistance getting our facility set up for more horses.

With your donations we could buy one piece of plywood at $70.
The roofing alone for the shelters will cost us about $1000.
We also are in need of stall mats whether you have some you would like to donate or if you would like to help us purchase new those are also $40 each.

At this time we need all the help we can get. Every little bit goes such a long ways for these gentle souls.

We have ways of donating via Venmo or PayPal and even Facebook donate. If you would like to drop off cash directly at the rescue that is also welcome. Total price to get these two horses today is roughly $360.

We still have sweatshirts available for purchase, they are $45 each. We only have a few sizes left! Adult sizes are Small - 2XL and Youth are Small - XL.

Saving horses takes a community and we are forever grateful for every single one of you that has helped us along the way!

DONATIONS NEEDED!

We just purchased all of our wood and 7 more concrete tubes for the heavy use area. This is a very expensive load of wood and has depleted our funds.

We would be extremely great full for your donation to help raise more money as we still need to buy the roofing for the shelter.

There’s a huge possibility we will be picking up a few more horses THIS SATURDAY from a auction.

Colton was finally castrated yesterday. He did great! While he was under anesthesia, Lacie was able to trim his feet and we got half the manure balls out of his coat. Today is the first day of his recovery. 15 mins of round pen trotting, per the Veterinarians instructions. He is smart and willing and will make a fantastic horse for anyone willing to put in the time and love.

Everyone meet Whiskey. She came to us a few years ago and needed tons of hoof care. She was broke to ride and shortly after, adopted to a great family! Kat and Whiskey make a fantastic team! Together they have accomplished several milestones and grown together. We could not have asked for a better home or opportunity for this sweet mare! Thank you Shawna Hammill for choosing Willow River Equine Rescue and giving Whiskey a forever home.

A wonderful and symbiotic collaboration.

It was such an incredible summer! I couldn’t even post 1 picture from each of the special events we did but I got as many as I could into this post. The NOVEL Heart Fund is proud to donate 10% of last quarters earnings to Willow River Equine Rescue to help them purchase a winter shelter for the mustangs horses they are rehabilitating. Willow River Equine Rescue is not just a horse rescue but also a sustainable farm. From chickens and turkey’s to pigs and a cow, everything on the property is used to support its growth and in turn, provide for the horses. It’s truly an incredible place and I highly recommend taking yourself and your kids out for a tour where you can walk among the horses in the field, feed and brush them and hold baby animals. You can even buy pork from the heritage pigs they humanly raise- the proceeds go to supporting the horse rescue. To everyone who invited us to be a part of your special day this summer, thank you! Not only did it help support our small local business, but it gave back to the community as well! We are looking for this quarters non-profit to donate to, so please send us your nominations!
Whenever you book a party with us, we donate 10% of earnings to a local non-profit nominated by members of the community. The NOVEL Heart Fund just donated to it’s first non-profit- Willow River Equine Rescue to help them purchase a winter shelter for their rehabilitating horses. We need your help in choosing our 2nd non-profit to receive this quarter’s donation. Simply tag the non-profit of your choice in the comments below and tell us why you want to nominate them. #maplevalleywashington #maplevalley #maplevalleywa #nonprofitorganization #charity #charitablegiving
