Willow was helping support Yelena for her first person on her back! This was our 3 time in 5 days working with the saddle. She cut her time down to 30 seconds getting the saddle pad on and by half with the saddle. I was able to put my weight over her, and then sit in the saddle. She stood still and checked me out and did amazing. So proud of this young mustang!

Day two of Yelena’s new training. She’s smart, curious, and sweet. Growing like a w**d! I had to use a bucket to put weight on her back and still had to jump. Going to need a proper mounting block for this precious baby.

Today we said farewell to Savannah as she starts her journey with her new owner Jayce. We are excited to watch her excel into a phenomenal riding horse and companion!

Savannah started her rehabilitation with us almost a year ago. She was in a neglect situation that unfortunately caused her to be seized by king county sheriff deputies. We are glad to say she has found her forever home! Updates following her training to continue.

Thank you to everyone that has donated or volunteered their time to assist with WRER horses, without you this is not possible!

As beautiful and functional as our hay storage Lean-to is we are struggling with a few more issues. Our roof is creating condensation and dripping onto our hay. This is the only hay we have for the entire year! We are hoping by installing reflective foam to the roof we can avoid having this happen.

The total cost to do this is $300 in material and we have help willing to do the install for us. we understand it’s the holidays and everyone has a lot going on. If you’re able to donate anything to help us keep our hay dry we would greatly appreciated it as this has been a long week.

Thank you to those that have donated or volunteered to help the rescue, we certainly couldn’t do this without you!

3rd day without water.
Flooding in the barn.
Frozen ground.
Re-welding the case housing for the well because we ran out of wire and hoping this will at least get the water back on for now.

THANK YOU to everyone who has helped by donating!

Christmas Eve update: Lacie welded the casing and the well is working. We’re dealing with some pressure issues, but after 3 days without water we are happy to finally have water again. No word on when the replacement will come, but we are now confident in the welds and they should hold until it arrives.

Update: Lacie is currently welding a patch in the casing so that, hopefully, we have a temporary solution until the replacement makes it’s way up our slippery hill. Unfortunately, we just ran out of wire to keep welding so, we will keep praying it works.

SOS! Please consider helping! $255 to overnight the new casing 🤞

Our well booster pump cracked in the freezing temperatures. The wind storm blew the doors open to the well house and froze everything inside. We are out of Water! The ground is frozen and everywhere is closed for the holidays. We’re doing our best to keep the animals warm, fed and watered. We are going to need to purchase a new pump.

Farmers never get a day off. Fortunately, our horses are wrapped up in blankets and put away in stalls. It is by no means warm for them, their water buckets in their stalls are still freezing and icing over, but they are out of the wind and on soft footing.

Poor Athena! Looks like something poked her sole and she is now on stall rest. We took down the wall between stalls to give this big mama some room to recover. We had to make a trip to the vet supply store and picked up grain from Tractor Supply to help her recovery. Her bill is on the rise and if you can help her out, please consider it.

Our horses have been wrapped up in blankets and stalled for the storm. This is the first time it stopped snowing

It’s that time of year again where we open our hearts and wallets to set up WRER for the winter. Every year we take in and re-home some of the most amazing creatures on this planet. But we can’t do that without your support! With the support of the WRER family we have been able to complete 4 heavy use areas with shelter for this winter and enough hay to feed all the horses through spring? None of this could be done without all of you!

ALL HORSES PLACED!

Thank you to everyone that has reached out to help these sweet horses. Because of you they are safe to live out their life in forever placements.

URGENT FOSTER HOMES NEEDED!!!

We have gotten a phone call regarding these two mares that are in urgent need of a foster home as their current owner will be released from jail October 30th whom has been charged with several counts of animal abuse and neglect.

WRER is full and we cannot take them in at this time. If you or anyone you know is interested in taking one of these sweet horses in please pm us!

Potential hauling date to bring them back to the rescue would be the 29th. We need homes lined up in order to go get them.

As of this time we have little information on them but know they are heavily pregnant. Sadie is halter broke while Ayla the chestnut is untouched.

So close!! We have all the product to finally finish all 4 heavy use areas!!
