iety was formed to help the abused, deserted, and thrown away animals in Sabine Parish, Louisiana. The Societyʼs main goal was to build and operate a shelter for that purpose. Finally in October of 2010, that goal came to fruition when our Facility opened. The funds for perpetual operation of the facility have always been a major concern. In 2008, the Society continued to lobby the Sabine Parish Police Jury for assistance. The Jury finally agreed to place a 10-year parish wide 1.5 millage property tax referendum on the November 4, 2008 general election ballot. A few volunteers worked hard promoting the tax to voters in the parish. Their efforts paid off when, by a margin of 286 votes, the citizens of the Parish supported the tax. The proceeds of this tax are collected annually, with the first collection starting in November/December of 2009. It is estimated this tax will yield approximately $130,000 to $140,000 annually. Along with the joint efforts by the town of Many, plus the assistance from the Sabine Parish Sheriffʼs Office, these funds help pay for the operation of the facility. **HELP!! LOST CAT! LINUS A GRAY TABBY**

My mom brought family home from out of town and my cat Linus jumped out of her car at anywhere between Stoner Hill & Youree Dr and Grover & Leo cross streets before we made it to my cousin's house on Leo Ave, Shreveport, LA 71105. We are absolutely devestated and heartbroken. We can’t live life without him, he’s our baby! 😭💔

Help us look for him around the area, he will probably be hiding in shade and doesn't do too well in the heat. He will probably be panting and look unwell and stressed but is a sweet kitty. He doesn't have a collar on right now because he jumped out of the car before we arrived. He is a senior kitty (12 yrs old) and gets daily medication. Please help find him and trap him!

We have already left litter box, cat bed/carrier, food, along with searching daily morning and late night/early morning and also asking everyone. Reached out/looked at all shelters & rescues in the area. With us not know exactly where he got out and not being in familiar territory we don’t know what else to do 😭
