It is with a heavy heart that I share the heartbreaking news that my cousin Kim passed away on August 1 after suffering a sudden heart attack last week. She was placed on life support, but despite every effort, she could not recover. Our family is devastated by this loss.

Kim loved her work and cared so deeply for every pet she groomed — and for the people who trusted her with them. She built this business with love, talent, and a whole lot of heart. We know how much she meant to so many of you.

For those of you looking for continued grooming care, I wanted to share a few trusted options that Kim would have recommended:

I have had a lot of questions of where you should take your dogs from now on. I will give you a quick rundown of who I reccomend!

Sittin Purdy Mobile Pet Grooming LLC is a mobile groomer. So she comes to you with her grooming trailer! Her grooms are amazing and she is very sweet. The price will be higher that what you pay here because it's is a convenience that she comes to you! But worth every penny!

Angel’s Pet Bathing LLC is taking a limited amount of new small and medium sized dogs. She posts photos regularly, so you can see what an awesome groomer she is! She has such a passion for what she does, she even works for a dog rescue!

🩷A pawfect cut (in frankfort) is where I really sharpened my hand sc******ng skills! They will have the closest grooming style to me. I worked there for years. One of my good friends is the manager, and I still know a few girls who work there. Here is where I would recommend my doodles go to!

Styled canine - her grooming differs a little from me, where I leave things long and fluffy, she tend to do tight and clean. She is a very talented groomer, and is great with the dogs! She runs a VERY tight ship, and requires all her clients to be on a strict schedule. But her passion shows through in her work.

Wags to riches- I have only talked with her once, she seems very nice, and her grooms looks great! Although she has been grooming a while, her shop just opened last year. But I have already heard great things about them!

As I get ready to close the shop, I'll be seeing your pups for the last time 🥺 it's not easy for me. I've grown to love each and every dog! I'm able to keep it cool most of the time, like it's no big deal. But it is. I opened my buisness 5 years ago as a way to do what I love, while still being here for my kids. My plan was to work a little here and there to help pay for the billions of activities my kids were getting into, while grooming dogs in town and getting to meet people! I never in a million years thought my little shop would grow like it did! I was honored that people liked my grooming and trusted me with their pets! I was taking every new client I could, all finding me through word of mouth. I have never owned a buisness before, and I was trying to do it all.
In the past year my husband got a new job, the kids have added more activities to their schedule, and are needing Mom a lot more! The decision to close was not an easy one to make! I've busted my butt for a year trying to do it all and make it all work. But I have to take a step back from work , and put my family first. My kids won't be little forever. And I don't want to miss soccer games, or circus performances, or school concerts! So I made the decision to shut down the shop, take a step back, and reset everything. I am not going to quit grooming forever. I love it waaay to much!! It is my passion! I just don't know what my next step will be at this point.
I may go back to a shop where I can focus on just grooming (the part I love!) And not the whole - running a buisness- part!
But for now I am going to focus on my family.

I appreciate all the understanding I have gotten so far! Everyone has been very sweet. And I appreciate the grace! I can't express how grateful I am that everyone is making this transition easier. I will miss you and your pets so much! But I know my fellow groomers will take wonderful care of them!🐩

To all my amazing clients:

Due to personal reasons, I will be closing the Pink Poodle Pet Styling in June. All existing appointments currently scheduled will be honored, and no cancelations will be made to those already in the books. However, I will no longer be accepting new appointments moving forward.
This decision has not been made lightly and I understand it may come as a suprise. It has truly been an honor to care for your pets, and I deeply appreciate the trust you've placed in me.

I have talked with some groomers in the area, and I trust they will take great care of your pets if you decide to go with them.
