Here at Louisiana squirrel dogs we also have a deer recovery program. Harvey will not only trail the wounded deer, if he is alive he will trail until he bays The deer. In the video the deer was shot from behind with no exit wound only a small pile of white hair. He bayed it twice with over a mile track.  ultimately the deer couldn’t go any longer. I’ve been in situation several times when I’ve called for a recovery and a dog would only track the blood that was there with the handler saying the deer still alive that is unacceptable to me if the deer is wounded, we have a responsibility to find him and end his suffering. 318-481-7007.
