Little K Acres Affordable Western Horseback Riding Lessons, Horse Training, Birthday Parties, Horse Boarding and Horse Camps We teach beginner thru advanced riders.

I have been riding competitively for over 20 years. My father, Jay Hasbrouck, strived to get me professional lessons at a young age so that I would be able to advance in barrel racing. I began giving riding lessons and training outside horses since 1997. I also give barrel racing lessons and pole bending lessons. I will provide the horses and the tack or you can bring your own. I charge $50 for gr

oup lessons and $70 for private lessons. All lessons are 45 minutes long. I teach horsmanship along with the saddle time. The student has the opportunity to groom the horse, clean out the hooves and saddle before and after riding. I'm big on safety and having full control of the horse so the first lesson may be spent mostly in the round pen so I can see how well you work with the horse and what you already know. We also host parties here at our facility! We offer hand led horse rides, a small petting zoo and horse painting as options. Today was the final day of our last camp session of the summer, and we made the most of every minute!

Campers started the day by helping with a few chores before giving their horses a good bath and getting them looking their best. Of course, all that hard work earned them a surprise ice pop treat to help beat the heat!
Campers spent time practicing their arena patterns to make sure they were ready for today’s parent performance. They also braided their horses’ manes and tails so their horses would be show-ready for the big event.

We had such an amazing turnout for the showcase today! So many friends and family came to support their riders! What a wonderful end to our summer camps!

Today was Day 3 of our final camp session and what a fun day it was!

During our riding lessons, campers spent time building their skills in the arena before heading out to the pasture for a short trail ride. In our ground lesson, they learned how to estimate a horse's height and weight using a measuring stick and weight tape. Then came the fun part, measuring themselves to see how tall they would be in horse hands! We also learned about horse anatomy and wrapped it up with a game that had campers racing to identify different parts of the horse.

One of the highlights of my day came when a camper looked at me and said, "Today is the best day ever!" Moments like that are exactly why I do what I do. Seeing these kids build confidence, make memories, and fall in love with horses makes all the hard work worth it, and that simple comment absolutely made my heart happy.

As we wrap up our final camp session of the summer, the excitement is building for tomorrow's parent performance! The campers have been working hard all week, and they can't wait to show their families everything they've been learning and practicing. We are so proud of how much they have accomplished and can't wait to watch them shine tomorrow!

Day 2 of our third and final camp session flew by! Between riding, and plenty of hands-on horse time, our campers stayed busy from start to finish.

Campers started out the day grooming and saddling their horses before heading to the arena to ride. Every camper was able to independently trot their horses today! During their ground lesson, campers learned how to properly lead and tie horses, then enjoyed bathing our two mini horses, Bubba and Gussie! I know the horses loved it too!

We ended the day with one of the campers' favorite activities, making horses out of pool noodles and racing them through a barrel pattern! It was the perfect way to wrap up another busy day at Little K Acres horse camp! 🐴💙

Day 1 of our third and final summer camp session is officially in the books! We had a blast welcoming a brand new group of campers!

Today, campers met their horses, participated in a full riding lesson where they learned the basics of riding, practiced balance and control, and worked through patterns while in the arena. Then they took part in a ground lesson focused on saddling and proper horse preparation. Of course, we tackled a few chores, because learning to care for horses is an important part of horsemanship and helps campers become well-rounded horsemen and horsewomen. After all that hard work, it was time for some fun! Campers got to paint Dolly Parton, while others received an introduction to roping, and then put their new skills to the test by roping the dummy.

We even had a few sprinkles throughout the day, but everyone stayed in great spirits and kept smiling. I was so impressed with their positive attitudes!

It was a fantastic first day filled with learning, laughter, and plenty of horse time!
