We’re sad to share that Mama Jasmine (now Layne) of the Pups of Tea has crossed the Rainbow Bridge. Her family shared, “Eight years ago she came into our lives exactly we needed her. I had lost my mom a few months before and Layne was the sweetest, most calm and beyond amazing dog. She never complained a day in her life. She absolutely loved car rides, just because she would sleep and be with us. She lived for food and was our foodie. Her big, floppy ears are our favorite thing. Her small snores she makes whenever she sleeps are such a soothing noise. She was and is our girl. The one we needed. We are so thankful you brought her to us. We were hesitant given the experience we had with our previous dog and Layne is more than we ever could have imagined. I like to think my mom helped with that. She was and is so loved. She will forever be missed and remembered by the 3 of us and Eleanor.”

Sweet Scotty got his heartworm treatment this week! He did very well and will be adoptable after his month of rest-we will post a bio soon. That shaved spot you see on his back has a matching spot on his other side-that’s where the immiticide treatment was injected. It’s SO important to keep your dogs current on heartworm prevention, and it’s available in a couple of forms, so make sure you keep up with it!

The communitiesfoundationoftexas , which runs the annual North Texas Giving Day, is helping local animal charities raise more money to fulfill their mission! They are offering some matching funds if you get in fast, so if you have a few dollars to give, we’ll get more. Thank you for your support.

Shelby and Scotty say it was definitely not them who tracked all the mud into the house, and could you please get them a cookie?
Scotty is doing great under the beagle buddies care! He has gained some weight and had a neuter surgery. He will receive heartworm treatment soon. After that, he will be available for adoption. As always, thank you for your donations that make it possible for us to provide the lifesaving and often expensive care for these awesome dogs.

We received the sad news that two of our beagle buddies crossed the rainbow bridge recently. Tim, shown with his father Bo, and Fiona, cool as can be in her doggles. Both were adopted as seniors to separate households. The folks who adopt seniors do so knowing that their time with these dogs may be limited, but both Tim’s and Fiona’s adopters gave them the most amazing lives in that time. We know they were so very loved and we are eternally grateful that they got to spend their final years with such wonderful families.

Meet the lovely Regina George. She’s no Mean Girl, but a beautiful and sweet 9 month-old pup who came to DFW Beagle Buddies from Waco. She was brought into the shelter after being hit by a vehicle. She had a severed spine and needed immediate specialty surgery. Three months later, she is walking and playing and doesn’t let anything slow her down. She loves toys and spending time with her foster brother. She is still very much a puppy and needs an active home with a canine playmate, backyard, and patience to train her to be a well-behaved girl! She is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and heartworm negative. She does not need any ongoing care for her spinal injury, though she does have a higher risk for arthritis or future injury. Everyone, please welcome Scotty to the beagle buddies! Scotty was picked up while roaming around east texas…no tag or microchip to identify him. Scotty will need some good groceries as he’s on the skinny side, then he’ll undergo heartworm treatment and a neuter. But for now, he’s enjoying a good roll and a nap in the sunshine.
