World Pet Memorial Day is a reminder that the love we share with our pets never truly leaves us. 🌈

For so many of us, pets are more than animals — they are family members, best friends, protectors, and constant companions through every season of life. They celebrate our happiest moments with us and stay beside us through the hardest ones.

Today, we honor the pets who may no longer be physically by our side, but whose paw prints remain forever on our hearts. The memories, the routines, the unconditional love, and even the quiet moments shared together are never forgotten.

If you feel comfortable, we would love for you to share a photo or memory of a beloved pet in the comments as we remember them together today. ❤️🐾

We have talked about this before, but we are going to continue educating because it seems like every single week we are seeing cats diagnosed with Bobcat Fever (Cytauxzoonosis).

This disease is running rampant this year, and it is VERY SERIOUS and LIFE-THREATENING. Sadly, many cats have already lost their lives to this disease.

We are not sharing this information to scare anyone. Our goal is to educate pet owners and help you recognize the signs early so you can seek veterinary care as quickly as possible.

Bobcat Fever is a tick-borne disease that can progress rapidly. Common signs include:
• Fever
• Lethargy
• Loss of appetite
• Pale or yellow gums
• Difficulty breathing
• Weakness or collapse

If you notice any of these symptoms, contact your veterinarian immediately. Early diagnosis and treatment can make a difference. Noticing any of these symptoms is an emergency, and should not wait.

The biggest thing you can do to help protect your cat is keep them on a prescription flea and tick preventative year-round. Products such as NexGard Combo and Revolution Plus can help reduce the likelihood of infection by killing ticks before they have the opportunity to transmit disease. While no preventative is 100% effective, it is one of the best tools we have to help protect our feline companions.

Keeping cats indoors whenever possible can also significantly reduce their exposure to ticks and other outdoor hazards.

Please take a moment to read through the flyer and share this information with fellow cat owners. The more people who know what to watch for, the more cats we may be able to help.

If you have questions about flea and tick prevention for your cat, give us a call. We are happy to help.

“Excuse me… I’ve been waiting 37 seconds and nobody has offered me a treat OR told me I’m the bravest patient ever.” 👀🐾

Some patients get nervous at the vet. Others march right up to the front desk to make sure everyone knows they’ve arrived. 😂

Who could say no to that face? ❤️

This sweet pup came to our urgent care last night after being bitten by a snake. Thanks to her owner’s quick reaction and fast veterinary care, we were able to begin treatment right away and get her on the road to recovery. 🐾❤️

Snake bites can happen in an instant, especially during the warmer months when snakes are most active. If you suspect your dog has been bitten by a snake:

• Stay as calm as possible and keep your dog quiet to slow the spread of venom.
• Do NOT attempt to cut the wound, suck out venom, or apply a tourniquet.
• Limit your dog’s movement and carry them if possible.
• Seek veterinary care immediately.

Common signs of a snake bite include sudden swelling, pain, puncture wounds, weakness, difficulty breathing, or collapse.

At our clinic, we keep antivenom on hand and are prepared to treat snake bite emergencies. The sooner treatment begins, the better the chances for a successful recovery.

We’re so happy this sweet girl received help quickly and is doing well! Give your pups some extra love today and stay alert when exploring grassy, wooded, or rocky areas. 💕🐶

🚨 New World Screwworm Alert 🚨

Protect your animals by checking wounds and body openings regularly. New World Screwworm infestations can start in even small wounds and become life-threatening if left untreated.

If you notice unusual wounds, maggots, or signs of pain and depression, contact your veterinarian immediately.

Fireworks season is right around the corner, and for many pets, that means stress, fear, and anxiety. Loud noises and bright flashes can lead to trembling, pacing, hiding, excessive panting, destruction, or even escape attempts.

If your pet struggles during fireworks, now is the time to plan ahead. Anxiety medications often work best when started before the holiday — please do not wait until the last minute to call.

Please note: We MUST have a current Veterinarian-Client-Patient Relationship (VCPR) with your pet in order to prescribe medication. If your pet is not current on exams, we recommend scheduling an appointment as soon as possible before the holiday rush.

Give us a call to discuss the best options to help keep your pet calm, comfortable, and safe this Fourth of July.
