Meet the Family Behind Forest & Fur Co. 🌲🐾
We’re not just a business. We’re a family of six who took a vacation to Manistee, fell completely in love with this little town, and somehow found ourselves building a life here. ❤️
We came for a visit… and Manistee stole our hearts.
We fell in love with the slower pace of life, the community, the people, and the feeling that maybe this was exactly where we were supposed to land.
My husband is one passionate, hardworking roofer with an entrepreneurial heart. I’m the animal lover who has spent years working with pets and dreaming of creating something a little different. Together, we’re two entrepreneurs trying to build something meaningful while raising our four kids along the way.
When we first came here, our transition was supposed to be slow. We were figuring out childcare, work, finances, and what life in a new town would actually look like.
Then we started talking to locals.
Groomers. Pet owners. Other small business owners. People who simply love this community.
And we kept hearing the same thing:
There was a need.
What started as “maybe someday” suddenly became “why not now?”
An opportunity presented itself that we simply couldn’t pass up—and what was supposed to be a slow transition quickly became a leap of faith.
And somehow, everything started aligning.
Forest & Fur Co. became more than an idea. It became our opportunity to serve our new community, create something we genuinely believe in, and build a business that allows our children to be part of the journey instead of always being on the sidelines.
There is something incredibly special about building a life where your kids get to watch you take a dream and turn it into something real.
They’ve been there for the messy parts, the exciting parts, the long days, the learning curves, and all the little victories in between.
Life has a funny and beautiful way of showing us who is meant to be in our lives, what doors are meant to open, and where we are meant to land.
We didn’t come to Manistee knowing exactly how our story would unfold.
We just knew we loved it here.
And now, we’re incredibly blessed to call it home. 🌲
So when you walk through the doors of Forest & Fur Co., you aren’t just walking into another pet shop or grooming space.
You’re walking into something our whole family is building.
