Finally after the feet were dealt with I clipped the hair away from the back of their ears and the inner top half as well. Along with a high quality diet for the mother during pregnancy and lactation, this makes a huge difference in their ears coming up earlier. My puppies ears are always fully up by week 6-7. I see many other posts on social media where people are struggling with theirs still at weeks 12-14. Follow these methods for guaranteed success. Also, unlike some other breeds where it’s true, once Scottie’s ears are properly up they shouldn’t change as they lose their deciduous teeth, or as some like to call them - ‘milk teeth’. 🦷

The puppies had their 3rd nail trim session after having their feed pad hair clipped away. These nails have been growing super fast so it’s important to keep them trimmed. This way they don’t get caught in their bedding or toys or scratch each other during their ferocious puppy play 👹

Now the puppies are 5 weeks old I use these small clippers to trim the hair away from their little feet pads. This gives them much better tactile grip when climbing up and down their new objects in their play pen. It’s also the very start of getting them used to the sensations and sounds of grooming equipment. It’s so important to start early.
