Great news! North Shore Animal League America was happy to learn New York State has passed a law banning the sale of dogs, cats, and rabbits at retail pet stores! The legislation, dubbed the "Puppy Mill Pipeline" bill, will take effect in 2024. This is a big step forward to end the puppy mill to pet store pipeline and the abuse of animals at the hands of cruel breeders. New York is only the sixth state to pass a retail pet sale ban.
