Due to the shelter’s growing social media presence, our page has become a busier place. As result, lost animal posts sometimes get missed. To help avoid this issue we have started a second page, strictly for lost animals in the Manchester area. All prior years' albums and information will remain with our main page, but beginning today, all reports will be posted to this new page. Please like, share and follow our new page at https://www.facebook.com/FMASLostPets/.

As a reminder, if you are in Manchester and are feeding a stray cat or kittens, please reach out to us ASAP at (603) 628-3544. If you see an injured animal, please contact Manchester Animal Control to report.

If you are reporting a lost Manchester dog, or see a lost or stray dog, please report it to the Manchester Police Department, and contact Granite State Dog Recovery for assistance.

AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION, AND HOPING TO BE HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS!

Every once in a while we are surprised by a match that seems to just fall into place. Buffy (6 mo torti) and Skippy (9 mo tiger) were rescued from a small colony. After spending a little time with volunteers, they showed us that they were ready for a home and were moved to the Community Room with 2 year old Allan as the kittens are still quite shy and they needed a confident adult to teach them the ways. Allan was trapped behind the shelter, and was quite angry when he first arrived, but in no time, he showed us what a love he is. Within hours, this trio quickly bonded, and although we can appreciate that asking anyone to adopt 3 cats is a lot to ask, we would be so happy to see these three go home together as they have become quite bonded. 'Big brother Allan" is always near the kittens, and has been caught sitting on Skippy from time to time to help him feel protected if he was scared, and grooming Buffy to comfort her when she runs to him for security. Are you cat savvy, patient, and have a quiet, dog free home for this bonded trio? Stop in to meet them!

Heather went home.

Hello! It’s me, Heather, still patiently waiting to find my forever home. Don’t let the fact that I’m a diabetic scare you off ... My daily meds are easy to give. Sure I can get a little sassy sometimes, and yes ... I do expect to be your one and only Princess, but I promise, I’m quite the catch!

I’m told November is Adopt-A-Senior month ... maybe now is the perfect time to stop in to meet me, and give me the break I’ve so been longing for?

Oliver is adopted.

Oliver is a super sweet 6 year old fella who wants to meet you! Sadly Oliver’s owner abandoned him quite some time ago, and he was left to fend for himself for many months til a Good Samaritan reached out to one of our volunteers for help. Oliver has a very quiet demeanor, and can be nervous with change and commotion. He warms up quickly to petting, and his friendly nature shines through in no time. Oliver will need a quiet home, and would prefer a home without young children. Sweet Oliver is so deserving of a home of his own-are you his special person?

Come in soon and ask to meet him. Oliver is currently being housed in the Roy building here at the shelter, so please make sure to mention this to the volunteer who assists you when you arrive to visit with him.

Sawyer is adopted and has gone home.

Meet Sawyer
Sawyer arrived to us from the streets early this summer. Little is know about this handsome boy’s past, but he did arrive with an obvious struggle with balance. When he walks, he seems to have some difficulty judging where the floor is beneath him, causing him to exaggerate his step. Sawyer has undergone extensive medical evaluation, and no cause for these issues has been found. Sawyer is now looking for his forever home with a family that is willing to look past his mobility issue. He is very affectionate, loves to be pet, and will come running out toward you when his cage door is opened, anxious to steal some of your time. Sawyer can be easily overstimulated, so his new home should not have young children, but a laid back cat should be ok with him. Does Sawyer sound like the perfect cat for you? Stop by to meet him during adoption hours!

Soraya is a shy, but very attentive 2 year old girl. She has been through a lot of changes and is still getting used to all the sights and sounds here at the shelter. This double pawed gal is a diva through and through! She loves treats, and will sometimes let you feed them to her out of your hand. Her ideal home would be a cat savvy one that will work on gaining the trust and love that we know she has. A home with a friendly understanding outgoing cat would be the best situation for her. Another cat to show her the way would work wonders for this sweet girl. If you are willing to show Soraya patience and understanding as she adjusts to your home, you will be rewarded with one awesome kitty. Come in and ask to meet her soon.
