Our sweet Izzy recently crossed the rainbow bridge. 🌈🤍

Izzy came to us from a wonderful family in New Hampshire, and in such a short time, she became instant family. She was the sweetest, silliest, most talkative girl, and we fell completely in love with her.

She did wonderfully during our move to Florida, snuggled up and happy the whole way. Shortly after arriving at our new home, she began dry heaving. Although we had never experienced bloat with any of our Danes, we knew immediately something was wrong and rushed her to the emergency vet.

We were faced with the devastating reality of bloat and a very poor prognosis. After talking through our options, we chose comfort and pain management. We stayed by her side, held her, loved on her, and told her what a good girl she was as we helped her peacefully cross the bridge.

Bloat is something every Dane parent fears, prepares for, and takes precautions against. We did everything we could, and still, it happened to our Izzy.

Our time with her was far too short, but she was so deeply loved. She has a permanent place in our family and in our hearts. 🤍

Rest easy, Izzy baby.
You were such a good girl.
You will be so, so missed. 🌈🤍
