🐾 Dear Friends and Guests,
We are almost halfway through the year, and it has been full of adventure, laughs, costume changes, couch cuddles, and nose boops. My boys and I have loved spending time with our guests -since 2015 as a Rover sitter, and since 2020 officially as Manchester Bed & Biscuit. My sons were between the ages of 5 and 12 when we started welcoming doggie guests into our home, and they have been incredibly helpful with all the dogs over the years. My youngest is now a rising 10th grader and ready to start driving. My older two are navigating young adulthood.
🙌🏻Dog-sitting early on was a way for me to contribute to expenses as a stay-at-home mom, and later as a homeschooling mom to pay for homeschool activities. I am so grateful to all of our loyal returning guests for making that possible.
📣Life circumstances have evolved, and it is time for this Biscuit Lady to seek employment outside the walls of my home.
🙏🏻Please believe me when I say, this has been a very difficult decision to make. It has weighed heavily on my heart for a while now. Recent health issues and an inability to find remote work for many months have also been factors in my decision.
🛎My best-laid plan is to close the Bed & Biscuit doors on December 23, 2025, with our last booked stay for the year; however, I cannot guarantee I will be able to remain open until the end of the year. If an employment opportunity presents itself, I need to be able to accept it and be available for any needed training.
This unfortunately also means I will not be accepting any new stay requests for the remainder of the year. If you have a pending boarding, I plan to honor it as a booked stay; however, the website now has a note indicating there are no more openings for the rest of the year, and the calendar shows no availability between all currently booked stays.
⏰️Any guests with a booked stay from now through December who wish to make alternative arrangements for your pup(s), I completely understand. Let me know, and I will refund immediately.
🛎If I need to close prior to December 23, I will make that announcement as soon as I can. My goal is to give you as much notice as possible, so that you can secure another safe and loving place. And, if I am being completely honest, I want you to find someone who provides the level of fun and care that I have. So, please...do the Meet and Greets, tour the facilities, and request daily updates and photos.
❓️Will the Bed & Biscuit stay closed forever❓️
Until I can get acclimated to working full-time and balancing other responsibilities, I cannot give guests the love and attention they expect and deserve. I hope and pray there will come a time when I can (on a much smaller scale) dog-sit again but that's all I can tell you right now.
🫶🏻Thank you for understanding and for trusting us to care for your dogs all these years. Pat them for us and give them a treat. It has truly been a pleasure getting to know them, and getting to know all of you.
❤️ Brooke
