POTD is Sugar! She was a model patient today! And an absolute cutie pie.

Sugar and her brother Benny came in for their annual exams and to update their vaccines.

Regular exams and blood work keep Sugar and her family aware of any changes in her health. As we well know, the best way to keep your pet healthy is to be proactive with their care instead of reactive.

With July for approaching, we are urging our clients (or any pet owner, really) to keep your pet in mind and make sure they have their microchip! Did you know July 4th is when most pets get loose? This year is the 250th anniversary, and people are expecting it to be bigger than before as well. Getting your pet chipped is a quick process at your vet clinic that helps ensure your loved pet can get home. It significantly increases the chances of your pet being returned. GPS devices are great, but it does not take much for those collars to come off, and they need to remain charged to work.

Yesterday, we had a new cat patient come in. Brooke, our vet nurse, has found this cat, she is super sweet and social. Thinking there is no way this cat is feral, Brooke did her sure diligence in trying to find this cat's home. No chip, and no one to claim her, Brooke brought her in to get her chipped and vaccinated.

Not long after this cat appointment, one of our clients came in with a very nice dog that they found loose. He had a chip! We were able to help this client get ahold of the owner and got this guy safely home.

Our today is none other than Peppermint Patty. She came in today for her annual wellness exam and some lifestyle vaccines. This girl can be a little anxious at the vet, and gets medications to help her in times of high stress.

With the upcoming events of Independence Day quickly approaching, we're reminding our clients to make sure they are ready. If your dog gets anxiety during highly stressful events (like storms or fireworks), now is the time to make sure you're prepared. If they are on medications for these events, do you have their medications on hand, or do you need a refill? If they aren't on medications, but you believe they would benefit from some relief, give us a call and let's see what we can do to help your fur baby.

Peppermint Patty gets through her vet appointments with minimal to no anxiety with the right preparations at home and a slow, friendly and purposeful approach from our staff and doctors. Happy to Peppermint Patty!

Being in the veterinary field we love all the animals, today we recognize the kitties. Here's some of our staff hugging on their cats, or our clinic cats getting love and hugs at work, and we would love for our clients to share pictures hugging our feline patients!
