Oh sweet Cowboy…

As much as you test the very last bit of my sanity and add more cleanups and fixes to my never-ending to-do list…
you are also the biggest personality, the warmest greeting, and a constant ray of sunshine (mixed with just a little hurricane 🌪️😹).

You fill the hard days with a reminder that there is always something to be thankful for and something to laugh about.

You may be chaos wrapped in fur, but you’re my favorite kind of chaos ❤️

honestly though…you really need a job… but if professional loafer, full-time front door supervisor, self-appointed welcome wagon, and emotional support hurricane paid well, you’d already be employee of the month ❤️

🎓😻 Welcome to The Grace Card Senior Class of 2026!!! 😻🎓

We have some remarkable senior kitties to celebrate 🎉. Through their determination to succeed, perseverance through trials, adjusting their sails through the storms and basking in sunshine afterward, and above all, keeping open hearts always and letting love lead - they are senior catizens 🎓🐾😻

Life doesn’t slow down or wait for anyone. Things can change in a moment. Cats don’t sit around fretting over tomorrow — they just live today, reach for the next goal (or treat in some cases), and stay in the present. So today… live like a cat 😻
For today - what age would you be if you were a cat? Live THAT age!

🐾 Under 40?
You’re 6 or younger in cat years, so go swing on a swing set, build a blanket fort in the living room, and sleep there tonight 😁

🐾 40–55 in human years?
You’re still a kid in cat years — about 7–10 years old! Sit at the kitchen counter with a bowl of Lucky Charms, read the back of the cereal box, stick your arm all the way to the bottom to see if there’s a prize hiding in there… then hop on your bike and ride to a friend’s house to play outside 🚲

🐾 55–70?
Congratulations — you’ve hit the “tween” years in cat life (11–14)! Plan an adventure with friends. Go “take a hike” 😉, plan a movie night 🍿🎥, or do something that reminds you life is meant to be lived.

🐾 70+ years young?
You’ve officially reached 15+ in cat years!!! 🙌🙌 Awesome news — you get a do-over 😹

Sleep late. Eat pizza and ice cream for breakfast. Turn the radio up loud enough to annoy the neighbors. Don’t make your bed. Sneak out tonight, steal the car keys, and climb back through the bedroom window before anyone notices 😁

Cats may have nine lives, but humans only get one. So live the kind of life where you can say:
“My life is better than your vacation.”

Like the saying goes…life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive, well-preserved body…It should be a wild skid in sideways — chocolate in one hand 🍫, wine in the other 🍷, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming: “WOO HOO! What a ride!” 😻

Congratulations to ALL the seniors of 2026 - with 2 legs and 4 legs 🎓❤️👏🍾🥳

Chloe update ❤️🐾❤️

Since coming into rescue in January, Chloe has lost a little over 1.5 pounds! She started her journey at 16.6 pounds and weighed in this past weekend at 15 pounds 🙌❤️

For a kitty on a weight-loss journey, this is exactly what we want to see — safe, steady progress.

While weight loss is the goal, rapid weight loss in cats can actually be dangerous. Losing weight too quickly may lead to loss of lean muscle and can put cats at risk for a serious liver condition called hepatic lipidosis (fatty liver syndrome).

In general, cats should lose about 1–2% of their starting body weight per week, and for morbidly obese cats, even slower (closer to 0.5%) is often safest.

So while Chloe may not be dropping pounds overnight, she is right on track — healthier, lighter on her paws, and one step closer to feeling like a supermodel (and she will!) ❤️🐾

But if you ask us, the best part of Chloe’s story isn’t the number on the scale…it’s belonging, being safe and knowing she’s accepted and loved 🥰 ❤️

Chloe absolutely adores her foster mom. Chloe is wherever she is — sitting at her feet, watching her with those loving eyes, quietly making sure her person is okay. She is the definition of devoted ❤️

And then there’s Penny 😻

Her shy senior foster sister spent so much time hidden away, unsure of the world around her. But somewhere along the way, Chloe and Penny made a little pact: we’re in this together.

Now Penny comes out more, keeps Chloe company, and is slowly finding confidence she had tucked away for so long. And Chloe? She has a sweet companion cheering her on through every healthy step of this journey.

Two shy girls. One quiet friendship.❤️🐾

Slow progress. Safe progress. Beautiful progress. We are so proud of you, Chloe 😻

Way to go, sweet girl! 😻

🐾❤️IT’S OFFICIAL ❤️🐾

After 105 days of surviving outside, snowstorms, uncertainty, and so many prayers… Binx’s story has found its happiest chapter ❤️

The little guy who slipped out of his foster home shortly after rescue, captured the hearts of an entire community while neighbors watched for him, left food, shared sightings, and never stopped hoping. And after an unforgettable journey, Binx made it safely back inside 🙌 and the cherry 🍒 on top 🔝 is that this boy, once timid and scared, immediately embraced his new home - asking for belly rubs, lap cuddles, and even sleeping on the bed 🛌 at night!!

Now…drum roll please…here is a very special announcement from Binx 😻

After over three months of extensive personality reviews, reference checks, training runs, treat evaluations, and careful observation of their overall servant potential, I am pleased to announce that I have officially adopted a bonded pair of humans ❤️

This was not a decision I made lightly.

They were thoroughly assessed for commitment, snack distribution reliability, understanding of personal space (mine, not theirs), and willingness to discuss my feelings at unreasonable hours.

After surviving my unauthorized outdoor adventure and conducting several months of ongoing interviews, I am confident they are fully committed to this relationship.

They have now been officially made mine ❤️❤️❤️

Terms of the arrangement include:
🐾 Unlimited love
🐾 Prompt meal service
🐾 Daily affirmations about my handsomeness
🐾 Soft blankets and preferred seating accommodations
🐾 Lifetime emotional support duties

I suppose they’re pretty lucky 😉.

Forever starts now ❤️

Love,
Binx 😻

Today we remember and honor the heroes who gave everything so we could have the freedom to love, gather, rescue, heal, hope, and have second chances 🇺🇸❤️

Their sacrifice gave us the gift of ordinary moments — quiet mornings, soft purrs, wagging tails, time with friends and family, and the gift to love and care for those who need us most, and we are forever grateful. ❤️🐾

Wishing everyone a safe Memorial Day filled with remembrance, gratitude, kindness and love.

😻😻Phoenix: To Forever and Beyond 😻😻

Phoenix has been officially adopted 😻😻❤️❤️

Saying goodbye to Phoenix is one of those bittersweet rescue moments 💔❤️

His foster parents love him deeply, and letting him go came with tears, pride, and that familiar bittersweet ache. He was safe, cherished, and truly part of their hearts 🥹

Bittersweet? Absolutely. Worth it? Every single time.

Phoenix has joined a forever family where he will be loved not just by one person, but by a whole family and two human brothers who will be his lifelong companions - and kitty friends too 🐾❤️

From foster home to forever home — his story continues with the kind of love every rescue cat deserves.

Go shine bright, sweet Phoenix 🔥😻 Your next chapter is full of friendship, love, and all the adventures your little heart can handle.

🎶 “You’ve got a friend in me…”🎶
Actually, Phoenix… you’ve got a whole family.😘

Lots of milestones and vet visits lately!

Scarlet was spayed on May 11 and is now rested, recovered, and doing great ❤️

Brady, Quinn, and Larkin got another round of vaccines, and the vet discovered that Larkin also has an umbilical hernia. That means both Brady and Larkin will have hernia repairs during their upcoming spay/neuter surgeries in early June 😻

Phoenix had his umbilical hernia surgery this past Tuesday and is doing wonderfully! He bounced back quickly and is already getting back to his sweet, playful, energetic self 😻

Umbilical hernias in cats are generally considered to be hereditary or familial, so as Phoenix and Scarlet and her kittens were all found at the same home location, and now the link of umbilical hernias in 3 out of 5 of these kitties, we can safely assume they are indeed family. Scarlet and Phoenix are estimated at the same age so we think they are actually siblings from last years kitten season.

Umbilical hernias are most common in kittens as congenital defects, and are usually harmless and painless, and a result of the belly button not closing properly after birth. This type of hernia can sometimes resolve on its own, but if it has not resolved by the time the kitten is 3–6 months old, it is less likely to close on its own, and may require veterinary intervention. The repair is typically performed at the time of spay/neuter surgery, but can be done after if the hernia becomes noticeable as in Phoenix’s case.

This crew are keeping their foster parents busy, but watching all of them heal, grow, and thrive makes every minute worth it ❤️🐾
