We are an all-volunteer animal welfare group that works tirelessly rescuing pets from the high-kill city shelter in Malvern, AR. On a two year average, Stop Animal Cruelty amazingly rescue, re-h

ome or assist in the re-homing of over 800 pets and provide over 600 people with assistance. All of which is accomplished by volunteers and with volunteer foster homes. Most people are surprised to hear we only have foster homes and no shelter. People often confuse us with the local “Humane Society” or “Animal Control” however they are different organizations entirely. Stop Animal Cruelty is the premier animal welfare organization in our area. We are a “No Kill” organization as we never have a healthy or treatable pet euthanized. We do not limit our program to healthy animals, particular breeds or the highly adoptable. Being an all-volunteer organization with foster homes, we are proud that donations directly benefit our rescued pets as there are no employees with expensive salaries or a shelter facility with large overhead costs. SAC has certified Humane Investigators who respond to over 300 reports of abuse or neglect each year in both Hot Spring & Garland Counties and intervene whenever necessary by way of education, or if need be prosecution. We are now the only local animal welfare organization that investigates reports of animal cruelty as unfortunately the local “Humane Society” will no longer provide this service. On a daily basis, our volunteers educate the public on the importance of spaying and neutering and provide our communities with low cost vouchers. We are available to our local schools, churches and civic organizations to teach humane care and dog bite prevention as we are strongly committed to keeping our community’s children safe, as well as their pets.

Georgia made history by becoming the first U.S. state to sentence a dogfighter to an astonishing 500 years in prison for an animal abuse case. The state has set a bold precedent in the battle against animal cruelty. Sentencing someone for such a long term sends a clear message that society will not tolerate animal abuse, no matter the form it takes. This case serves as a reminder of the importance of legal systems in protecting vulnerable animals.

The legal professionals who worked on this case deserve recognition for their tireless efforts to secure justice for the abused animals. Animal cruelty cases are often difficult to prosecute, but when they are, they pave the way for stronger animal welfare laws. This decision will undoubtedly inspire other states to take more serious action against those who harm animals.

Animals are not just pets or property; they are living beings with emotions and needs. Every day, animals suffer from abuse in silence, but with the passing of such laws, we take one step closer to a world where cruelty is no longer tolerated. This decision is a victory not just for the animals, but for all who fight for their rights and well-being. 🐾👊

A friend once saw his neighbor’s little poodle go over the fence in a coyote’s mouth.
You think your big dog is safe? Think again. The pack will send a small member to engage a big dog in play. Little coyote backs up as they play-play-play until WHAM!!! The pack swamps the big dog and CHOMP-CHOMP-CHOMP! Big dog is coyote chow.
Fence your big dogs; supervise your little dogs.
Don’t let your dogs become coyote chow.

Animal cruelty laws in the United States were strengthened with federal legislation that classifies severe abuse as a felony offense. The law allows for penalties of up to seven years in prison for acts involving intentional harm, torture, or killing of animals.
The statute marked a significant shift in how animal abuse cases are prosecuted, enabling federal authorities to intervene in crimes that were previously handled only at the state level.

LILY NEEDS A FOREVER HOME
Sweet Lily is a precious little chihuahua who weighs about 20 lbs. Lily was rescued by her Dad (our beloved Billy Smith, SAC member) from being a 'bait dog'. She lived with him until he passed away and a senior family member continued loving and spoiling her until he passed. Lily again is now all by her little self. She is the perfect girl for a senior and would love nothing more than to be your constant companion. We estimate her to be possibly 7+ yrs old. She is spayed and up to date on shots. She will be happiest in a quiet home as she never been with kids. For an applic to adopt -pls contact Janice 501-620-3160.

For 17 years SAC has followed the traditional pet rescue & adoption model assisting hundreds of abused, abandoned, and neglected pets each year. We have now grown and transitioned into something much greater! SAC is now tackling the root of the problem which is the over-population of unwanted pets which is causing an increasing number of pets to be abandoned or surrendered thus overwhelming rescues and shelters. By focusing on helping to eliminate unwanted litters, we can help low income families keep their pets and prevent rescues having to turn away pets in need. This is why we chose to pivot and focus on a low cost spay & neuter program.
If you need financial assistance with spay or neutering your pet, please text 501-538-7541 or email [email protected] for additional information to see if you qualify.
If you do not qualify for financial assistance but need to have a dog or cat altered, you may text your information to (501) 620-3160 or email [email protected] to have a voucher allowing you a discount for spaying or neutering. Please send your name, number and mailing address so a discounted cost voucher can be sent to you
