What Is Closed-Loop Farming?

Closed-loop farming is a smart and sustainable way to grow food. It works like nature does—everything is reused, recycled, and returned to the land, so nothing goes to waste and fewer outside resources are needed.

🌾 Main Parts of a Closed-Loop Farm

1. Crops
- Crops are grown using compost made from natural waste.
- They provide food for people and animals.
- Leftover plant parts (like stalks and leaves) are either composted or returned to the soil to keep it healthy.

2. Livestock
- Animals like cows, chickens, and sheep produce manure, which is full of nutrients.
- This manure is composted and used to fertilize crops naturally.
- Animals are fed with crop leftovers or grass from the farm.

3. Compost
- Manure and plant waste are turned into compost—a rich, natural fertilizer.
- Compost boosts soil health, helps plants grow better, and reduces the need for chemical fertilizers.

4. Water System
- Water is reused through ponds, rainwater collection, or irrigation systems.
- Runoff from fields is captured and recycled.
- Even fish and aquatic plants can add nutrients to the system.
