Another fabulous day in Claremore. “Mini” finished her first level score for her bronze. She also qualified for regionals! Calvin completed his 4th level scores for my silver medal. He also qualified for regionals! Cupcake had a super test today and was totally committed to her job. There were only blue ribbons today!

Today was the first day at GCDS in Claremore, Oklahoma. This is our first USDF show of the season. It was a fabulous day for “mini” and Rosie. They had qualifying scores at training and first level. They also won junior high point! Calvin and I had qualifying scores at third and fourth level and broke 70%! We won high point open rider 🙂 Cupcake came down centerline today for the first time. Between moments of brilliance, she had moments of athletic creativity 😜

I take 3 hours of Spanish a week and also work with Topline Mental coaching. It is always fun when my “classes” intersect.
My most recent sport psychology sessions have been about confidence and building a “confidence resume.” My Spanish class today was about describing strengths and weaknesses.
One of the things I love most about Spanish class (and my instructor) is that it gives me a chance to process my reality as an outsider looking in. It’s much easier to explore my life unemotionally when I’m also worrying about conjugating (the hopefully correct) verb to explain my situation.
Today I got to build my (confidence) resume in Spanish and discuss punto fuertes de míos.
When I had to do this for my coaching session, I had a hard time. But, when I had to do it in Spanish, it was easy(er)... I was able to be more clinical and fair about who I really am. Yo soy resiliente y tengo un buen humor.
The goal for me with mental coaching - understanding and preparing. The goal for Spanish - understanding and preparing! Hopefully my beginner status in both can also make me a more empathetic coach!

FYI - it has rained and the dirt roads are very wet! Please do not drive through standing water on a dirt road… you will get stuck! There is crushed asphalt from 1317 heading north to the barn. Please use this road! It will safely take you to the barn.
