However, we also have resources for equine, bovine, and exotics. For DOGS, there is an $100.00 adoption fee which covers Sterilization, Rabies vaccination, all shots and worming up to date. All dogs over 6 months of age have been tested for heartworms and all pets are on heartworm prevention during their stay with us. Puppy, under 6 months, adoption fee is also $100.00 which includes all of the ab

ove plus an additional puppy series vaccination. All guarding breeds (all ages & including mixes when guarding breed is the most dominant): ex. Pit Bulls, Doberman, German Shep, etc have an adoption fee of $200. Along with an adoption application, we require a vet reference and a home check before adoption will be approved. For CATS: The adoption fee is $90.00 which covers testing for FIV and FeLV, rabies & FRCP shot, and spay/neutering of the cat.

***CCAPS HAS THE INITIAL FUNDING FROM THE INSTASNIP GRANT!
CCAPS shelter is so excited to have received this InstaSnip grant from Will Let the Dogs Out? Organization. This grant will allow us to spay/neuter far more strays in Columbia County and that is a critical initiative in significantly reducing, (or even eliminating), the unwanted, throw away litters that has recently reached an all time high. With such a radical increase in unwanted litters, Columbia County is facing a tremendous public health and safety issue. Good morning everyone. CCAPS Animal Shelter needs 6 able bodied men to assist with moving 6, oversized, dog houses. We had new dog houses donated but first we must move the old ones. We said farewell to Danny Cheatham, long time CCAPS supporter, yesterday. Danny's life partner, Barbara White, (CCAPS board member), bonus granddaughter, Lakyn Stroeder, (long time CCAPS volunteer), and Elaina Jimenez, bonus daughter, (and CCAPS kitten bottle baby foster), will be in our thoughts and prayers.
