Sometimes grooming isn't about pushing through - it's about listening to the cat.

Jabo let us know pretty quickly that the high velocity dryer was just a little too much for him. Instead of forcing the issue, we slowed things down, removed the nozzle to soften the airflow, and switched to gentler drying methods so he could stay comfortable and relaxed.

Every cat is different, and part of compassionate grooming is being flexible enough to meet them where they are. The goal isn't just a clean coat - it's a low-stress experience built on patience, trust, and creativity.

And yes, Jabo still looked very handsome for his Memorial Day photoshoot afterwards.
