My latest student went home today! Cowboy came from a racing background, by way of Sandra Garnett. He was a great student, and I appreciate the chance to work with him. I have an open stall now though! Who wants it? 😂

Our most sincere condolences to Queen Elizabeth II’s family, and to all of her subjects as well. She was an amazing woman, and I doubt I’m likely to see another leader like her in my lifetime. She loved her horses too, so I feel a bit of a kinship there! Rest In Peace Queen Elizabeth.

It's hard to ride a c**t with one hand, and video with the other, but I think Roy is doing great for 3 weeks of "breaking" lessons!

Every time you mount up, spend a few minutes bending your horse's head from side to side, before riding off. This will not only help keep him soft and flexible, but it will also teach him patience. Horses are great anticipators, and if you develop a habit of riding off as soon as you hit the saddle, pretty soon he'll be walking off as soon as your foot gets into the stirrup.

Why does "hay hauling" always happen when it's hottest, and "hay feeding" always happen when it's coldest? (Things that make you go "hmmmm.."....) smh

I'd say "Here's a picture of a horse's butt." ...but nobody would know which individual I was talking about...😂😂 ...so instead, I'll just comment that this is the view that causes most folks to recognize their farrier! lol
