Roses are Red
Violets are Blue,
Can y'all believe it's been a month with these Two!

In all seriousness though, these two have come so far in just a month! From scared and untouched to letting me touch their face, scratch and brush them all over, halter, deworm, they with eat treats from my hand, and yesterday, we trimmed hooves!

Smoky wasn't a huge fan of being trimmed but didn't do so bad. Especially for his first time ever. He lets me touch his face now, he loves being brushed! He's starting to have a big personality, he loves playing with Bandit, he IS the drama! His warts are starting to fall off, which means his immune system is getting better he's got an insanely beautiful coat and he's so shiny!

Bandit I've found gets very angry when I stop giving him scratches, he will nip at me if I stop scratching him (we're working on that, but discipline is different when the horse has been through traumas) he definitely loves his scratches and brushing! He lets me touch and pet/scratch his face. He did really surprisingly well with his hoof trimming yesterday I'm so proud of him! He is still super skittish with other people but trusts me. When it's just me he will follow you around like a puppy dog. Which surprises me because he was the most skittish one when they first arrived! He still has some of his winter coat but he has such a pretty copper coat and it's also getting shiny!

Today marks 1 week with our sweet little orphan c**ts! In that week these boys have made so many improvements! They knicker at me every morning its the cutest little thing!

Smoky loves to be brushed, ive gotten so much fur off that you can see that much more of just how skinny he is! Poor babes! Hes the sweetest boy! I picked up his feet today and he did so good! Hes still a little jumpy on occasion but were building more trust everyday!
Bandit is still super skittish but hes coming around more and more everyday, becoming more curious as the days go by! Hes tolerateing being brushed now, thank gosh. I take it as a win! His matted hair was driving me crazy lol I'm still far from getting them all out but its a great start! Baby steps! I found his sweet spot, he doesnt want to admit that he loves it but there are signs😘 (he rubs on my back, gives me kisses and nods his head) then he trys hiding how much he likes it haha its funny!

Altogether a great start in the right direction!

Ok yall, i have some big big news!!

A client of mine sent me a post about a month ago about some orphan foals in need. I reached out to the rescue out in Wisconsin about them and together we rescued these sweet babies from a horrible situation in Kansas! This is our first big out of state rescue!These two c**ts cant be older than 3-5 months old, extremely emicated, their moms were sent to slaughter and in need of a loving place to give them all the care they greatly needed. Heroes for Horses was looking for a rescue that had experience with foals, re-feeding programs, and space to take them in. They had them shipped to Wisconsin on Monday so Wednesday my friend and i drove 7 1/2 hrs to Wisconsin to bring these precious c**ts home yesterday! I am so greatful to have the opportunity to work with heroes for horses in rescuing these scared little boys!
Being theyre both boys, came together, and are so close i wanted them to have a good name for a matching pair.

So i welcome you to Smoky and Bandit!
Smoky is the taller c**t i believe is a saddlebred
Bandit is the smaller c**t i believe is a quarter horse

I cant wait to see these boys gain weight and start the thrive! Im excited to show them that not all people are bad!

Today I had to make a very hard decision, this is the worst part of rescing horses. We didnt have long together Redemption but I'm glad I could give you a good last year of your life. To know and feel loved. To have a friend as good as Ginger has been for you. You had 20 long years, 1 year of fighting with EPM and who knows how long you suffered before you came to me. You were so strong for so long, today I lay you to rest, no more pain, never to suffer another day. One day we will meet again, at heavens gates I'll call your name and see you running to meet me again. Watch over J.R. for me up there. RIP Redemption I love you Ready Boy!😭 until we meet again!
