Twisted Critterz Rescue and Rehab have some project horses up for adoption. We have everything from halter broke to completely feral. All horses are rescues that have their own history and some will need more advanced training than others. Low adoption fees for project horses. They leave under a adoption contract we don’t want these horses ending back up at auction

Needs to be restarted but was broke at one point from what we were told
Working with her on picking up feet and bathing

Onyx and Zinc
Still gaining weight
3 year old mare and 3 month old foal
Came from hoarding situation
Completely feral and unhandled
Will need a trainer that has worked with flighty wild horses.
We will not separate mom and baby if you interested in her but not the baby we will hold her for you until we wean the baby.

Adoption day rescheduled

We are rescheduling adoption day. The ground is horrible and it’s just a muddy mess right now. We rather play it safe than to have a slippery mess. We will announce our rescheduling date soon.

For Ashley’s birthday this year she’s asked to bail some horses out of auction instead of get presents. So for the next two weekends we’re going to try to help a few horses out. We will be going to auction for the next two weekends to help 1-3 horses for Ashley birthday wish. After that we will be taking a break from going to auction and focusing on getting all the horses that are being adopted to their new homes.
This sweet boy is at the auction we’re going to be bidding at tonight. We’re hoping to help him and a few other horses.

To everyone going through these bad rains. I know your em very busy but please try to remember to pick out your horses feet and apply thrush buster or durasol. These wet conditions are a wreck in the making for white line and thrush.

We’re doing a Thunder Run today!!
Today is the auction and will will be trying to help 1-2 horses if we can.
We’ve got our eye on a few that look like they need help.
Just like last time we will update as we go.
So far our followers have raised $413 dollars with the Thunder Run Auction Donation Fund. We’re going to match that fund dollar for dollar plus some.

I will update the fund dollar amount at 5pm today. The auction starts around 6-7 and depending on how many horses there are is can run past 1am.

A recent rescue that came in had a bad foot and bad limp. I didn’t want to trim with out a X-ray. I wanted to make a game plan to help this beautiful boy. I’m glad I waited for the X-ray.
Unfortunately what we found was horrible. One of the worst cases of founder I’ve ever seen. The best thing we can do for this boy is to let him pass with dignity and show him mercy by having him put down.

As a farrier when I tell you to please take changes in your horses hooves seriously. The health lines, the chronic abcesses, the constant limping and laying down a lot more then they should. They will tell you when something isn’t right.

If you have a horse diagnosed with cushings or founder/lamanitis please take vets and farriers advice seriously. Dry lot them when needed. I know it seems cruel to dry lot but they are fine with hay and a dry lot. Better then their feet getting horribly worse. Don’t feed any kind of high sugar feed. Don’t let them on thick bright green grass or clover. Stop feeding high sugar treats. A good diet can change a horses life.

Thunder Muffins memory is going to live on for forever because we will keep using his X-rays to educate people.
